Authors POV:
The soft glow of the mansion's grand entrance lights welcomed Seokjin and Jungkook home, the cool evening air still tinged with the scent of the dessert shop they had just raided. Jungkook, ever the doting mate, had indulged Seokjin's pregnancy cravings without hesitation, driving across the city to gather cakes, strawberry tarts, french toasts, and an entire crate of banana milk before bringing his omega back home. The moment the car rolled to a stop, Seokjin unbuckled his seatbelt with surprising speed, his energy uncontainable despite the early weeks of pregnancy.
Ever since the pregnancy announcement Jungkook has seen a completely different side to Seokjin. The omega was very carefree. He would play harmless pranks on Jungkook, say the most corniest dad jokes and his laugh wouldn't be out of shyness now. No, in fact there was so much giddiness in his laugh that he sounded like a seal. Yet jugkook loved it. He loved every version of SeokJin.
"SeokJin, slow down," Jungkook warned as he grabbed the bags from the back seat, his deep voice laced with amusement.
But Seokjin was gone—darting up the grand staircase leading to the entrance, disappearing inside with a mischievous bounce in his step.
Jungkook sighed, shaking his head as he followed at a steadier pace. Being the eldest amongst the two of then came with responsibilities—one of which was keeping his playful, newly pregnant mate from causing chaos.
The house was quiet, the others not yet back or maybe in their bedrooms, but the scent of warm tea and faint traces of their scents lingered in the air. Jungkook barely had time to step inside before—
"BOO!"
Seokjin leaped from behind one of the marble columns in the entry way, arms spread wide.
Jungkook stumbled back with a deep, startled growl, eyes momentarily flickering golden as his instincts surged in shock. His Alpha senses screamed protect, defend—before his brain caught up and realized it was just his ridiculous mate.
Seokjin, meanwhile, was howling with laughter, clutching his slightly stomach as he collapsed against the column in delight. "Oh my God, Hyung! You should have seen your face!"
Jungkook let out a long, slow breath, his muscles still tense from the shock. He set the bags down carefully before running a hand through his hair. "Jin," he said, voice low and exasperated, "I am too old for this."
Seokjin, still giggling, wiped a tear from his eye. "Too old? You're a couple of months older than me. And You still chase me around the house like a wolf pup the second I try to do some chores. Don't even get me started on your energy during sex."
Then he pouted and Jungkook narrowed his eyes before suddenly lunging.
Seokjin squeaked, trying to escape, but Jungkook was faster, easily scooping him up into his arms. "You think you're funny?" he muttered, voice deep and amused against Seokjin's ear.
"I think I'm hilarious," Seokjin corrected, grinning down at him.
Jungkook sighed but held him closer, scenting him instinctively—breathing in the calming mix of strawberry, warmth, and the subtle sweetness of their unborn pup. "You scared me," he admitted, pressing a kiss to Seokjin's forehead.
As Jin distracted him and the hold loosened Jin managed to escape again and this time he ran further into the house almost giving Jungkook a heart attack as he ran after him.
Everything that he dropped earlier Lee took a hold of instead and walked into the house admiring his boss and his husband.
"Baby no stop running!" Jungkook shouted after him but Jin was giggling full of energy because of the sugar and did not listen to him.
