"Thanks Max." I said, as we all got onto Max's ATV. "For the ride and our lives." "Don't sweat it. I hate those things too. I don't know what they are, but they're nasty." Max said, in a confident but fearful voice. "Yeah," James said. "We were on our way to the city, could you take us there?" I asked. "Why not?" Max said. "I'm interested to learn more about these blue Wolverine zombies." So we drove, full throttle, slowly making our way through the fields to the city. When the skyline came into view, there was a big billow of smoke coming from the center of it. What happened to Presicosa...? I silently thought. I kept wondering that as we advanced into the huge city. As we were about to enter the city, we heard a scream. HELP!! "What was that!?" Max said. "I don't know, but whoever it was sounded like they need some serious help. Let's go!" I said. The scream came from a small section of forest to the right. We ran, as fast as we could, into the dense brush. Then, everything blew into chaos. A massive explosion erupted throughout the forest. All I saw was a blinding flash of light then all orange. "WHAT THE!?" I shouted. There was fire everywhere. We had to forge through the flames to reach the cries for help. There was a teenage girl cowering in the corner of a still-burning shack. "Hey, come on!" James shouted at her. She slowly made her way to us. "STOP!" I shouted at the top of my voice. She did so. Suddenly, a massive, menacing hammer cane crashing out of the sky and hit the dirt 5 inched in front of her. "Rift... How did you-" James said. "Hurry!!" I said, urging her over, cutting James off. She picked up the hammer and ran over. "Let's go! We gotta get outta here!" Max yelled at us. We ran, faster than hyenas, making our run out of the forest. There were trees ablaze, crashing down all around us. I was in the back. There was the sound of cracking wood and fire all around me. I was falling behind. "C'MON RIFT!!" James shouted at me. The instant after that, two trees fell in front of me in an X pattern. I'm trapped! James, Max, and the mysterious girl were waiting on the other side. Focus... "RIFT!" James shouted. "RIFT, NO!!" Focus... Again, shouts from my friends. On the other side, there was a feint flash in the middle of the 'X'. Then, I came crashing through and tumbled forward in a giant fury of confusion and even more tumbling. "What..." Max and James stuttered. "It's a very long story. I'll explain later. Now, who are you?" I asked. "I... I.... Unnnhhhh..." She mumbled. The second after that, she feinted. "Let's take her under care." James said. We walked to the nearest building. There was no one there. We made ourselves at home and put the strange girl in a bed. James and I went downstairs to go over our options. Max stayed upstairs with the girl. We stayed in the temporary sanctuary overnight. I woke up to another bloodcurdling scream.
