Chapter 53:- Betrayal

Misha's POV:

I heard his soft murmurs but couldn’t quite make out what he was saying. I tried to open my eyes, but it felt like an impossible task. A pounding pain throbbed in my head, making it even harder to focus.

I tried to move, only to be met with resistance.

What is happening? Where am I? Why does my head hurt so much?

Summoning all my strength, I blinked, my vision adjusting to the dim light. His voice, once faint, became clearer with each passing second.

"Sugar… baby, open your eyes," he pleaded, concern dripping from his voice.

Slowly, I forced my heavy eyelids open, my gaze swimming over my surroundings.

I was tied to a chair, my wrists bound on either side, making any movement impossible.

My breath hitched as I lifted my head—and there he was.

Ansh.

Bound in the same way.

"Ansh," I croaked, my throat painfully dry. My voice came out hoarse, barely above a whisper. I swallowed the lump in my throat, trying to rid myself of the suffocating dryness.

“ Yes baby , are you fine?” He asked concern dripping his voice , his eyes scanning me from head to toe for any injury.

“ Yes, but my head is paining” I whispered, trying to keep my eyes open

A shiver ran down my spine as I took in our surroundings—dark, cold, unfamiliar. The dim flickering light above cast eerie shadows on the damp walls.

"Where are we?" My voice came out weak, almost unrecognizable to my own ears.

Vedansh tugged against his restraints, jaw clenched. "I don’t know, but we need to get out of here." His voice was steady, but the fire in his eyes betrayed his rage.

Just then, the sound of slow, deliberate footsteps echoed through the room.

My heart pounded.

A door creaked open, and a figure stepped inside, their face hidden in the dim light.

"Well, well... finally awake, aren’t we?" The  voice was cold, dripping with malice and familiar.

““Looks like we’re going to have some fun,” another unfamiliar voice followed, laced with the same malice.

We both turned toward the direction of the voice, where two figures stood—a woman and a man. Their faces were obscured by the dim light, making it impossible to recognize them.

“Finally, the day has arrived. I’ve been waiting for this moment,” the familiar voice spoke, sending a shiver down my spine as I recognized it.

My face turned pale, betrayal cutting through me like a sharp knife.

No.

This can’t be happening.

It’s an illusion, right?

She can’t do this.

As they stepped closer, their faces came into the light. My breath hitched at the sight of the familiar and unfamiliar faces before me.

Ansh’s reaction mirrored mine as we both froze in place, staring at her.

“What are you doing here, Sarah?” I asked, trying to sound normal even though I was breaking inside.

“What does it look like I’m doing, my dear best friend?” she mocked, as if enjoying my dismay.

“But why? Why would you do this?” I asked, my voice trembling as I fought back the urge to cry.
