A/n- I'm cooking it up fr fr now
"Find anything?"
Delta asked as she watched as you got pushed back into the cell with her , the door closing behind you loudly with a slam.
"I did."
You took the small metal piece from your pocket as you went and sat near her but kept your space to a certain point. Her eyes widened as she looked down at the flat piece and her eyes flickered back at you not thinking it was possible.
"All this time I've spent here and I couldn't find a way...I didn't know.."
Her voice was quiet as she had her realization.
You gaze soft as you looked her over seing the pain and perplexing look splayed across her features. The dim lighting only highlighting the way her eyes watered slightly as she processed her feelings for a moment.
"Hey.....did you have family before they took you ? You remember anything?...."
You asked softly , unsure at first as you didn't want to intrude but there was a big part of you that wanted to find answers.
"I do not remember much no...only small memorie of a woman...."
She replied as she sighed , looking over to the door of the cell.
You were unsure. You had no doubts that she had been here for her whole life and had learned things. Learned that they will do anything to get what they want. Learned that they will hurt her if she doesn't listen. Learned to fear. But you? Even when fearful you were brave. You got things done and you knew that with your time here you were gonna teach her. Teach her to not fear , teach her to not take there shit. To be strong,Strong.
"I'm guessing you don't know much about the outside world. I've been out there for a bit. I was a soldier , taken in by other soldiers...there really nice. Sometimes they have there moments but there strong and I know someone will come looking for us. I promise you'll live a normal life once out of here."
You placed your hand hestsintly but gently on her shoulder as you were unsure how'd she react to your sudden touch. She flinched slightly but her gaze softened as she felt the weight of your hand , a gesture of comfort and support on your end to her.
"I don't know what it's like outside here....just coding , brief moments of quiet and just these rooms..."
She murmured as she looked at you.
"Delta....your gonna love the outside. There's trees , blue sky , bright sun , the warmth on your face. They have places you can see cool animals...and so much more."
You explained as a small smile grew on your face as you explained remembering the time you had at the zoo before all of this happened.
"Really?.....it's seems scary...where will I go? I do not know anyone outside...."
She looked at you as the concerned dwelled within her as you spoke."It's scary at first with knew things but trust me you'll love it....and I know someone who'll take you in if I bust his chops about it.."
You let off a small laugh.
"He's like my dad basically.."
You added.
"Your dad?..."
She looked at you confused as if you had just mentioned sudden murder.
"Yeah?...like someone who takes care of you and cares for you. That's a dad. They are there for you and protect you from harms way...."
You explained as you remembered the times ghost had went bat shit crazy to keep you safe and to protect you. The things he's done , seen , just to keep you safe. The things he was willing to do to get you back was applauding.
"It sounds..nice...and no guards? No pain?"
She looked hopeful at your words.
"None of this shit , I'm gonna get us out I just need a little more info. I don't know how long we're both gonna be in here so."
You sighed as you slumped a little , looking around trying to find a way and to make a plan.
"Sometimes they keep it until next course..."
She replied and you turned to her looking confused.
"What do you mean?"
She spoke up.
"Next course takes about a hour...."
She responded curtly and you gave a small nod looking off at the ceiling and at the light bulb.An idea sparked.
"I got a plan...but I don't know how well I'll execute it...."
Your tone was knowing as you stood up off the cot and started to eye the bulb that was dangling there.
"What are you planning on doing? It seems impossible...with all the guards-"
She went to rant but you cut her off giving a small firm but hopeful expression.
"The light bulb...we can use that and wait. Break the hub it gives us a weapon, we can stalk behind the door , we can use the sheet from cot to cover the slot so they can't look in , we hide behind the door and as they open it we can use the glass from the bulb and take out that asshole ...the rest so far is just waiting. Really hope your not afraid of the dark."
You explained as you stood on your tippy toes , looking at the light bulb with a look that spoke volumes.
"It does not seem safe..."
Her Scottish accent was more prominent the more she spoke up to you with concern laced in her tone.
"None of it is but that's the risk. But there's also big reward."
You reminded her.It was all a waiting game now.
All you had to do was wait.
*****
You don't know how long it's been , it feels like it's been over six hours but you know it could be minutes. You were hungry and sore and All you did was stare at the ceiling , or lie in the cot while delta drew on the wall with the dust that lay on it. It wasn't too cold but the temptress was comfortable , though it had been quiet here and there delta would ask questions.
"What do you mean you were a soldier?...."
She spoke as she glanced down at you from the cot as you lied on the floor.
"I fought alongside them and eventually became one , they took me in for my skill , also why these fucks took you too. I grew close with the people I was with but missions were dangerous , either you were getting shot at , stabbed , blown up , or a bomb goes off and flips the humvee ."
You explained as you thought about Alejandro and soap.
Delta listened intently as you explained your time as a soldier.
"It sounds dangerous...but exciting.."
She trailed off, her eyes fixated on the way you spoke about it.
"You got shot at?..."
She whispered.
"I did...but y'know I'm still here shockingly."
You shrugged. She chuckled softly at your response, her cheeks rising a bit as she softly grinned.
"But how do you stay so chill about it? I'd be freaking out if I got shot at....well, probably.."
Delta seemed to be genuinely interested in what you had to say and her eyes shone with curiosity.
"You get used to it , also just not giving a flying fuck."
You say simply.
Delta chuckled again, her eyes glinting with amusement at your response.
"So, just not caring about anything, huh? Must make life easier."
She smirked a little as she teased, but her tone was lighthearted.
"Sometimes.."
You chuckled lightly, shrugging nonchalantly. "It's simple at times, but then others...well, it bites you in the ass."
You let off a small huff.
Delta nodded in understanding, her expression sympathetic.
"Yeah, I guess simplicity doesn't always mean it's easy."
There was a moment of silence between you two as she continued to draw in the dust. Suddenly, she broke it with a question.
"What...what was your first time being shot like? If you don't mind me asking..."
Your eyes widened slightly at the question bringing you back to the time you suffered at the hands of many.
"It stings and burns....it feels likes someone stabbed a hot rod inside you"
Delta winced a little at your description, her eyes widening as she listened intently.
"That...that sounds excruciating."
She shook her head, clearly shocked by the painfulness of it. Her hand stilled the movements of drawing in the dust as she focused solely on you."It is....but y'know we have people who help. Doctors and stuff...I personally don't like them much thought..."
Delta tilted her head quizzically, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"Why don't you like doctors?"
She asked curiously, her tone filled with gentle concern.
"They give off weird vibes at times I don't fuckin know..."
You shrug.
Delta chuckled lightly at your response, her expression lightening a bit as she found humor in your dislike for doctors.
"You just don't trust them, huh? Any specific reason?"
She titled her head at you.
"No , just don't really do doctors much...weird.."
You answered.
Delta chuckled at your response, amused by your vague answer.
"Weird vibes, huh? Is that your professional assessment or just your gut feeling?"
She teased, a smirk playing on her lips.
"Alright tube baby."
You deadpanned for a moment as you sat up off the floor , body turning as you placed your palms on the cell floor pushing yourself up, keeping quiet for a moment.
The silence of the moment was suddenly shattered by a loud alarm blaring throughout the room. It echoed off the walls and seemed to vibrate through the air. Delta sat up on the cot, her eyes widening in a mixture of shock and fright.
"What's happening?"
She called out, her voice wavering slightly.
"I don't know but we need to be ready now this is our chance."
You replied back. This is the chance.
A chance.
Only hours.
Hours.
But in the end will it be worth it?
