Summer Won't Cope by @sacredfear

Summer will never be as bright as we want,

It seems so warm and lovely.

But behind the shadow of the glare of the sun,

Summer is really ugly.

The sun beats down with firm force,

It bristles on your skin.

The damage it will do to you,

Sunburn is where it will begin.

Cancer will enter your bloodstream,

Melanoma will hog your skin.

Why did this happen?

The stupid summer sun was let in.

Summer brings unchangeable heat,

It makes your head ache and sweat cover every pore.

You do not want Summer to be here again.

You do not want to see it anymore.

When Summer comes,

It's too hot to even function.

You can't move your muscles,

Your bones strain at each junction.

Shade is impossible to find,

Air conditioning is sacred.

What if electricity stopped working?

That's why in Summer, you just can't make it.

Summer brings heatstroke,

You never get any relief.

Ice melts in a matter of moments,

You can never relax comfortably.

As you walk on the beach,

The sand burns your feet.

The feeling pierces through you,

You need to retreat.

The trees provide shade,

But not enough for the heat.

The competition is great,

It's something it cannot beat.

Sweat pours down your face,

Drenches you.

Now you feel dizzy,

So much water that you lose.

You can't take many more steps,

You're too dehydrated to cope.

Dizziness overtakes you,

You've passed out, your body said, "no."

Your body hits the ground,

You fall into a heap.

Your head hits the ground,

Blood begins to seep.

Your head is cracked open,

Your body groans with pain.

You lose some more blood,

People are screaming your name.

Bugs are attracted to your blood,

You begin to get infected.

With the sun spotlighting you,

You can't go undetected.

Your blood keeps on flowing out,

Your heart starts to tremor.

And with the summer sun in your wake,

Infection and your blood are fused together.

The ground beneath you is hot,

It burns and grazes your body,

But as your heart begins to stop,

You turn from an alive to dead body.

It's hot as you lay there,

Your breathing's too heavy to work.

You can't concentrate the slightest,

Your brain connections are going berserk.

Your heart shivers the tiniest bit more,

It stops, and you go dead.

But none of this would have happened,

If the Summer sun was not there.
