"Rick." Laney said.
"Hi Lanie, is Kate here?"
"Err, yeah." She said.
Before he could say something he pushed him out and closed the door behind them.
"Rick, you broke her heart! Now you explain right now!"
"Alright, The woman you saw me with was Gina, she's not my other woman! She's my publisher!"
"Your what?!"
"My publisher! We were talking about my book, it's getting published."
"Oh my gosh!"
"I lied to Kate because I wanted to surprise her."
"So you didn't cheat!"
"No Lanie!"
"I knew it!" She smiled, He smiled softly.
"Go talk to her!"
"I am."
He nodded and walked in the door.
He took a deep breath and walked up the stairs, as he walked he heard sniffling.
He knocked on the door.
"Lanie, I ugh,, don't feel like talking anymore."
"It's not Lanie."A masculine voice said.
She looked up and wiped her eyes.
"Go away!"
"No, not until you talk to me."
"There's no point!"
"Yes there is!"
"Fine."
"Kate the woman you saw with me was my publisher."
"What?!"
"She's my publisher, we were at lunch because I got news that my book is getting published."
