Scrape!

Crunch!

I gasped as I dragged myself onto the ground. I helped Sabrina up.

"We made it." I wheezed.

"My muscles have never burned this bad in my life." gasped Sabrina.

Sabrina crawled more inwards and laid on her back.

"I'm ready for bed." she groaned.

"I agree. We should find a place to sleep." I agreed.

"Let's get moving." Sabrina said jumping up.

"We should find a cave." I confirmed. "Do you still have your bag?"

Sabrina looked at her bag.

"Yeah. I barely feel it anymore. Is that normal?" I asked.

"Yeah. Now let's stop talking and start swimming." I said.

"We finally found a cave." I stated.

"Maybe we should check the map and see how close we are to the coral tunnel." suggested Sabrina.

"Okay. My heart is bright and holy, light the way for my journey." then I blowed on the map.

The map glowed bright with the journey ahead we need to take.

"Well according to the map we should be there soon. We should rest though. We had a long day." I explained.

"I second that." Sabrina agreed.

"Then let's hit the sack." I said.

"What does that mean?" Sabrina asked.

I sighed.

"Never mind. Just go to bed." I commanded.

"Can't argue with that." agreed Sabrina.

She laid her head down on her bag and was out like a light.

Will I ever fall asleep after I have done? Or will my dreams be plagued by the memory I wondered.

I did end up falling asleep. I was right though. My dreams were plagued by the replay of the death or murder. Except the memory was altered to be worse than the event was.

"Sarah." a voice whispered.

"What?!" I called.

The world spinning around me in circles. I was the only thing still. I was in the chasm once again.

"Sarah!" the voice hissed.

Then a hand shot up from the ground. The hand dragged itself up carrying a body behind it.

"Nice to see you again sweetheart." the body laughed pulling itself to me.

"Pirate?" I gasped.

"Oh Sarah. Don't act so surprised." he scolded. "You knew I would haunt you in your dreams."

"You seemed ready to die. You accepted it." I stuttered.

"Oh, everyone has to accept death. It's always a matter of time. My life ended a bit too early I believe." the pirate agreed.

"I didn't mean it." I stammered.

"That's what they all say." he sneered.

"There's nothing you can do about it now." I tried to convince him.

"That's not true. I can still haunt you with the memory." the pirate explained.

"You are just a dream. You aren't real." I reasoned.

"That's where you are wrong Sarah. I am a ghost that will forever be connected to your dreams." he chuckled.

That's when he striked. He grabbed my ankle and started to drag me down. I wailed and screamed as he pulled me down. I grabbed at the ground. Pulling up rocks, gravel, and sand in the process. The pirate laughed menacingly. I then slipped under into the darkness.

"No!" I cried.

I waked up gasping and panting. I looked around.

It was just a dream I thought. Remember that.

I looked over at Sabrina who seemed to be shivering in her sleep.

"Sabrina." I whispered shaking her.

"Uh?" she grumbled.

"Sabrina we should get moving. I don't feel safe here." I explained.

"Is it because of a dream?" Sabrina asked.

"Yeah. Did you have it too about the pirate?" I questioned.

"We should never have had killed him. I mean it wasn't on purpose." Sabrina confirmed.

"Let's get moving." I stated.

"We should check the map first." suggested Sabrina.

I pulled the map out of my bag.

"My heart is bright and holy, light the way for my journey." I chanted then blowed.

The map glowed brilliantly.

"We are almost to the tunnel. Should just be a few steps." I observed.

"Then, we go to the temple after passing by the ancient library." Sabrina inputted.

"Then, let's get moving." I commanded.

"Okay." Sabrina agreed.

We stood up and left the cave.
