With trembling steps, he moved inside the room, his body feeling weak, as if the strength was draining out of him. His breath came fast and uneven, the weight of the moment pressing against his chest.
The soft creak of the door opening reached Abhinash and Soumya's ears, making them turn sharply.
Their eyes widened in shock.
Rudhransh stood there, his presence heavy with **everything** he had just overheard.
Tears lined his gaze, his expression shattered beyond repair.
"Is that true?" his voice came out weak, fragile-almost as if he was pleading for a denial, for reassurance that his worst fears weren't real.
Abhinash and Soumya exchanged a look, uncertainty flashing between them.
"What?" Abhinash let out, his voice laced with nervousness, desperately trying to grasp control of the situation.
But Rudhransh wasn't going to let it go.
"Is Prisha the reason for my mother's death?"
The words broke him. They left his lips like shards of glass, cutting through him, leaving nothing but pain.
His body trembled violently, tears escaping without control.
The girl he loved more than his own life-could she really be the reason for his mother's death?
No.
No, it couldn't be possible.
"Dad... please," he whispered, his voice desperate as he stepped closer, his shaking hands clutching Abhinash's wrist.
"Tell me the truth. Please."
His world was slipping beneath his feet.
And only the truth could save him now.
Or destroy him completely."Rudhransh..." Soumya's voice was soft, full of concern as her hands gripped his shoulders, trying to steady him.
But there was no steadying the storm inside him.
His body was trembling, his breath uneven, his mind refusing to accept what he had just heard.
"Say it's a lie, Maa," he begged, his voice raw, desperate.
His eyes searched hers, pleading for reassurance, for the truth to be anything but what he feared.
"It can't be true, right? How could Prisha...?" his words faltered, breaking under the weight of his thoughts.
She had been so young then. Just ix years old.
How could something like this even be possible?
"It's a lie, right, Dad?"he turned to Abhinash, his voice almost a whisper, his entire being hanging on Abhinash response.
He needed to hear it.
He needed them to deny it .
Because if they didn't...
If they didn't, then the truth would shatter him beyond repair.
And he wasn't sure if he could survive that.
Not this.
Not her.
Not Prisha."Please... I'm begging you."*
His voice cracked, raw with desperation as his legs finally gave out beneath him.
He fell to his knees, his hands gripping his father's wrists, his entire being trembling under the weight of what he had just learned.
"Don't hide it anymore. I've been suffering since the day I lost my mother-every single day, I've carried this pain, searching for answers. Wanting to know what really happened to her."
