Chapter 24

//Jude//

      My head was killing me and at the same time that didn't matter because my father was awake and then again I killed or we all killed two innocent people, my sister at that. Worst of all I almost killed Marisa again and I..I enjoyed the look of fear on her face. I didn't even want to think about it. I could tell what we did would hurt Simon the most but we had no idea how to control it.

"Two of you gather up their bodies . Simon do not go all depressed on me and most of all we need to find Penny. She's on a chaos spree. I can feel it by the devils she used to possess you guys. You got all that?" My dad ordered us. I didn't have time to register that it was Penny.

"Yes sir" We all answered. Then everyone moved at once and I moved just in time to catch Marisa from falling to the ground. I guess everything became to much for her and I don't blame her. I put her in my arms and carried her to where my father was.

"Good thing she passed out. We can drop her off to her family or something." My dad said not looking at me. He was staring at Gale who was picking up the lifeless body of Penny. Both guilt and frustration welled up inside of me.

"No she lives with me. " I was becoming a bit possessive over her. My dad looked at me then and put a hand on my shoulder.

"Look Jude I know that she might mean a lot to you but you have to understand you and your brothers nearly killed her .Who's to say it won't happen again?" My dad said being sincere. I knew I should believe him because I've nearly gotten her killed twice now and who was to say it would not happen again. I was too stubborn to let her go though.

"Did she say she wanted to leave?" I asked him because then I would actually let her go.

My dad was silent for a moment but then he looked me in the eyes and said,"Yes she did say she wanted to leave. She's deathly afraid of us vampires." That answer hurt more than I thought it would. I looked at her calm peaceful face. She would be better off without us, without me. I looked back at dad.

"Alright I'll take her somewhere soon as we reach my house." I told him. He gave a small smile then patted my shoulder.

"Good choice son." He turned and looked at the rest of the boys who were watching us.

"Come on boys to Jude's house it is. We need to get the boy and Lucy to a healer and we also need to find Penny. I know she's long gone by now." My father told us. We all nodded and began to move out of the small attic with our inhuman speed.

This was no laughing matter but I just never want to see my dad running in a hospital gown. Too freaking weird. I heard Gale chuckle. Of course he read my thoughts. We ran out the house and back into the woods in the dark night. I looked down at Marisa's face yet again ,I may never see her again but I would miss her voice and her attitude. Wait I just really looked at her....when did she turn blonde?

Penny's POV:      

       Shit I never meant for him to wake up. I looked to the butler Sebastian whom I had tied up and sat on the couch in the living room. I walked over to him and looked into his eyes filled with hate.

"You " he said angrily. I smirked.

"Be angry all you want Sebastian but I don't care. I never meant for my damn father to wake up. I knew I should've killed him when I had the chance." I paced the room in front of Sebastian. That's when I got the idea. I turned my head and smirked at Sebastian.

"Well I really can't do anything about it now. I've always liked you Sebastian but my brother needs to let you go along with this house." I motioned around the room. "Sorry Sebastian I liked you but then again we can't have any survivors now can we. That just wouldn't be right." I leaned in close to Sebastian and whispered. "Goodbye Sebastian. " He stared at me wide eyed. I moved back and with the snap of my fingers his leg set on fire.

"No!" he yelled. I smirked and snapped them again so the fire moved faster it was practically eating his body up.

I turned and walked away leaving the screams of Sebastian behind me. I smiled as I thought, by the time they got here I would be long gone and this house would be on fire.
As soon as I left out the house I snapped my fingers one more time.

Jude's POV:

We were running and we were almost to the house when we saw a bright orange light and the distinct smell of fire burned my nose. I became angry.

"She set the fucking house on fire" I yelled as we continued running.

"There is not time to be angry now Jude we just need to find her and then all things will be settled." My father said. I looked at him and nodded my head but I was still angry. We got closer to the house and I could hear the crackling of the fire. Gale came out of the forest first.

"Jude take a deep breath." I heard him say. It was that bad. I was pissed when I got out of the woods to see my house up in flames. All of my things, all of Marisa's things gone. Something else was gone too and I could feel it.

"Sebastian" I said quietly at first. There was no immediate answer but I didn't want to believe.

"Sebastian " I said louder. Again no answer at all. No he couldn't be. I felt pain well up in my chest that wasn't going to go anywhere anytime soon." Sebastian" I yelled.A hand clamped down on my shoulder. I turned to see my father and everyone else looking at me sadly.
"He's gone son, his life energy is nowhere to be found. We can't be sad now I know this is the hardest for you but we need to be strong. Vampires are starting to come out of there homes to see this. You need to get the girl somewhere safe and then immediately come back you understand." My father's voice held something strong. He wasn't just saying it,it was another order. I pulled myself together and nodded.

"Yes dad." I replied. He returned the nod.

"Now go." he said. I glanced down at Marisa's peaceful face and off I went. Leaving my family and my burnng house.
