  //Jude//

I stopped at the other side of the street before my destination. I looked down at Marisa's still sleeping face and really wished that I didn't have to leave her but I know I did. It's for the best, I mean I've nearly killed her twice now and I don't feel too good about that. I crossed the street, everything dark and the only thing lighting my way is a blinking street light. The door of the house opened and as I got closer out stepped an older woman.

"Jude what are you doing here?" she asked. I came closer with Marisa in tow and she looked down at her.

"Can you please do me a big favor?" I said voice near pleading. She kept looking down at Marisa as I came closer and put one foot on the first step.

"It involves the girl?" she asked.
"Yes..listen Mika I need to know if you can watch her. My family is going through some things and I don't want her to-" Mika cut me off.

"I know everything Jude. I am a psychic remember plus I owe you one anyways for helping me out all those years ago. I'll take care of her." She said. I felt myself relax and then walked up the last four steps until I was standing next to Mika and I looking up at her.

"Thanks a lot. I just can't afford her getting hurt because I care about her." I said.
"Do you love her?" Mika asked me.
"Maybe." I said shocking myself. Even if we haven't known each other that long, I felt something for her.

"Okay then you already know your way around the house take her to a spare room and I'll watch over her after that." Mika told me. I nodded my head and was thankful yet again. Not using my vampire speed for fear that I would wake Marisa up I walked into the open door of the house. I went the familiar ways to the stairs and began to walk up them.

I helped Mika out a few years ago with a vampire case against her husband. He was killed but she wanted justice. I won the case for her. Her house is about two towns over so Marisa probably won't know where she is. I stopped at the top of the stairs and turned right and walked into a room. I sat Marisa on the bed gently and cautiously. She stirred a bit but didn't wake up. I looked down at her and felt something stir in me.I would be leaving her, maybe for a few  maybe forever and she would never see me again.

It's safe to say that I really want her to have the best. Someone that's not me,somewhere that isn't with me and where she could be safe. I knew it was wrong when I let her move in with me, when I kept trying to talk to her even though I told her not to talk to me but there was always something in her eyes in her face that let me keep her with me. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

Losing two important people in one night isn't that great. I never got the chance to say goodbye to Sebastian and I can't say goodbye to Marisa. I looked down at her face and then found myself leaning down towards her on the bed. I towered over her and then I pressed my lips to hers. It was a warming feeling but also a sad one. The first kiss and possibly the last. I pulled back quickly and looked down at her. Not able to bare it anymore I left out of the room and found Mika standing at the top of the staircase.

"I promise to watch over Jude but you need to be careful. Penny is dangerous." Mika told me.

"I know and now that my father is here and we know the truth I think we can handle her.' I said. She gave a sad smile.

"No just because your father is awake doesn't mean you all can defeat her. She is all to powerful and it scares me Jude it downright scares me." Mika had a very noticeable look of fear in her eyes and she was making me uneasy.I smiled sadly.

"I think we can handle her. Also no matter what Marisa asks just lie to her." I said but now I wasn't so sure about anything at all. Before Mika could say anything else I swiftly walked passed her and when I got to the bottom of the stairs I used my vampire speed and left out the house. As I ran I let the pain take me and the first strain of golden tears slide down my face.
