Chapter 31

Have you ever wondered about kissing someone because it just seemed right? I got my answer to that and boy was my wondering right. as I walked down the stairs, my heart accelerated with each step. What had I just done? Fuck it I knew what I'd just done and it felt amazing. I forced myself not to look back at him but that was proving to be hard. I wondered what his expression looked like as I walked away. Was his heart beating as fast as mine? If so, then oh boy.

I made it to the last step and that's when I turned around. No matter how much I didn't want and I knew I should not, I did. Our eyes met and something went off inside of me. What was this feeling, this yearning for nothing and no one but... him?. Jude looked down at me as if he felt the same thing. The smoldering look in his eyes almost made me melt and I couldn't take the heat it brought. I quickly turned away but wondered what he thought of all of this. That was not a thank you kiss... no of course not, that...that was a kiss on impulse, a kiss that had me yearning for more and a kiss that could very well be the death of me. I

swiftly walked away, turning corner in this unknown home. I didn't care if I got lost as long as this beating in chest would cease.

~A couple hours later~

We all sat in the living room of Daniel's home. We just sat there and stared at each other. I was sitting between Gale and Ryan , Lucy on a seat with Saber, Simon and Ezra were leaning against the wall while Daniel and Jude sat on a couch together. It was a bit too awkward for my liking and everyone seemed to take the fact that Lucy revived herself and Saber from the dead. It seemed completely normal to this family but then again it wasn't. We've been here for a while and from what I've heard , Lucy's powers are really special. It makes me wonder what special powers other vamps had.

"So are we all just going to sit and look at each other ?" I said. I was a bit fed up with myself and Jude on top of being bored. Everyone's heads turned toward me as if they were snapped out of a trance. I shrugged. "What ,Just asking people ?"

Coming to my rescue Ezra said ,"She's right. It's about time we told you. " All heads turned toward him now but Simon must have already known the situation.

"Told us what ?" Ryan said. It would seem he asked the question for all of the people in the room. Ezra looked at each of us.
"We have a lead on Penny ." He said and those few words got everyone talking at once ,including me. It was up to Simon to silence us so his deep voice boomed across the room, "Quiet."

There was immediate silence and we all leaned back into our seats. Ezra began to talk again, "Now I know you are all excited about this but we have to make a plan of action. She's probably expecting us with possibly a large amount of turned vampires. She seems to have been moving quick across the country so only the guy in the clouds knows what's going on. her location at the moment is in Las Vegas ." Ezra finished.

"Vegas?" Gale said. " Why Vegas of all places ?" I was thinking the same thinking the same thing but of course Gale knew that. He turned to me with a smirk and I smiled and shook my head. Out of the corner of my eye I could see something flicker across Jude's face. Ugh ... boys.

I turned my attention back to Ezra at the very moment he raised his eyebrows . "My daughter is my daughter after all. How many tourists come to Vegas each year ? " It was more of a rhetorical question and a collective 'oh' went around the room. Jude leaned up in his seat.

"So she has gone to Vegas to make a ... I'm guessing vampire army or something ." Jude said.
"Exactly." Ezra began to walk around the room talking, all of us watching him. " It would seem that Penny plans to take over the world, make vamps supreme once again like in the olden days. It's a bit cliche if you ask me. I would have killed everyone including vampires." There was a pause and we looked in shock at him but he turned to us with a toothy grin on his face. " I'm just messing with you guys . Anyways, Simon and I have decided that we can't sit in this town and wait for her to start an apocalypse vampire style. " Ezra clapped his hands together and paused.

"And your decision ?" I questioned. He looked me in the eyes and smiled, then in a dramatic way he threw his hands up in the air.

"Why to go to Spin or shall I say Sin city of course ." Ezra said. At first there was no reaction but then Gale and Ryan gave a big high -five.

" Vegas here comes Ryan ." Ryan said. I rolled my eyes.

"We leave first thing in the morning so pack whatever you have ." Simon said. I didn't even notice Ezra already left until a faint breeze passed. Then Simon left, looking a bit sad. Then Lucy and Saber who walked away hand and hand. Then Daniel and Ryan. So it was just me ,Gale and Jude. I locked eyes with Jude for a quick second until Gale interrupted.

"Hey Marisa . I know you don't have anything at the moment so do you mind if I took you to the mall and bought you a few things ." He said. I turned to him and smiled.

"That's okay Gale... I couldn't possibly. " He cut me off.

"No I insist." He said. I looked to Jude who didn't say anything but looked mighty pissed. I turned back to Gale and smiled. I patted his cheek.

"You know what sure Gale. " Before I even got gale out a breeze filled the air. Jude was gone. I frowned and looked at Gale. "What's his problem ?"

" Maybe he doesn't want to got to Vegas. " Gale said.

"Hmmm possibly. " I said but I knew the reason. Jude was jealous.
