Jake's mum watches as Rory takes a couple of pills from the cabinet and downs it with a cold glass of tap water. Her curiosity burns through the atmosphere but she doesn't say anything.

Smiling weakly at mum and Jake, Rory leaves the room before heading up stairs where Jake know he'll give himself a pep talk advised by his counsellor.
Poking her head out of the door, Jake's mum tip toes back to me and asks in a low voice,

"What are all those extra pills for? Do you need that much for anxiety and panic attacks?"

Sighing heavily, Jake replies in an equally low voice, "he has depression mum."

His mum raises her eyebrows before cocking her head to the side as a puzzled expression forms on her face,
"Don't mean to sound ignorant but I learn a new thing everyday," she says a little louder and checks behind her to make sure Rory hasn't ambled downstairs. He has a habit of being a silent soft individual.

"Everyone and anyone can get depression," Jake says quietly,

"Back in my day, if a man talked about being depressed he'd get a slap around the head, keep his chin up and get on with laugh," she chuckles as she smiles nostalgically at herself. Before Jake can say anything she abruptly leaves the room to grab the phone that's just started ringing.
