- Ella's POV -
It had been a week since my audition at the dance academy. I would spend everyday since then watching the front door for any post addressed to me, my nights consisted of endlessly thinking about how I would react if I got in and if I didn't.
One day I gave up watching for letters and decided to take a walk to the forest park. It wasn't far from where me and my dad lived and I liked to take my dog Rusty there. He is a Jack Russell and probably my best friend.. (How sad).
There is a huge empty field at the forest park, I would usually take a picnic and relax on it. No body was ever around and there was a lot of space to dance.
I took Rusty off his lead and let him run freely around the field while I lay down in the long grass and watched the clouds float passed. In my most peaceful moments I would think about my mum and how proud she would be of me. She always wanted me to follow my dream as a dancer, she was my main support as a child.
I jumped up from the place I lay and began to spin and spin and spin until I couldn't anymore. Rusty ran after me as I pranced about pretending I was in the dance studio, while imagining being a real ballerina.
My phone began to ring loudly in the distance, I sprinted as fast as I could almost tripping over Rusty in the process. I grabbed it and answered.
"Ella here how may I help you?" I joked while biting my tongue.
"Your letter has arrived Ella!" Dad shouted from the other end of the phone, I shrieked and hung up.
"Lets go Rusty!" I shouted while running into the forest park once again. I need to brace myself, I should be proud no matter what the outcome is.
I pushed passed random people jogging and some kids who were playing football, I need to see this letter!
My house was finally in view, Rusty was almost collapsing with all the running. He has four legs.. He should have more energy than me.
"Dad dad where is the letter!?" I shouted when I entered the front door. He walked into the room with it in his hand.
I snatched it off him and opened it aggressively.
"Ella remember whatever it says on that piece of paper, you are still my favourite dancer!" Dad said but I was barely listening. I turned over the page and began to read it.
"Ella Steele, you have been accepted into the National Academy Of Ballet.."
I began to scream with happiness, my dad grabbed the letter off me and read it also.
"You did it!!" He shouted before giving me a huge hug. I didn't know how to react, I've did it! I've got in!!!
"Your mother would be smiling right now" Dad said while hugging me tightly.
"No she wouldn't! She would be dancing around with me!" I shouted while laughing, he nodded in agreement.
"When do you start?" Dad asked, I glanced down at the letter again.
"The 15th of September.."
"That's in two weeks!"
And the dream begins..
