The days leading up to the court date blurred. The girls finally agreed to testify, quitting Epic Records and taking measure to beef up their own security. Normani was working on selling the Harmony House, and so it was noisy in the house. Between detectives, lawyers, the girl's parents, real estate agents, and everyone packing I got nearly no attention from Lauren. We'd been working on things, and figuring out what exactly our next steps would be. I still had a job at Syco, and the publicity from this ordeal blasted my name to the top of the charts and now the label was demanding a new album and separate tour. That was great, but it would require me leaving L.A., where I promised Camila I'd stay until she finished her treatments, and where Lauren and I always wanted to live. At the moment, Lauren's heart was focused on going back to Miami to take care of Anthony, but what exactly was she going back to? With no job and the girls going their separate ways, she'd have no one and being alone was not something she was used to.
This particular morning, I took my time and slept in, knowing someone was going to have me doing some grunge work like moving couches or taking apart cabinets.
I woke up with a clump full of Lauren's silky black hair in my mouth. I quickly spit it out making a noise, "Ew, Lauren!" I grumped, lightly smacking her back. She in turn smacked my thigh, "Leave me alone." She moaned, "... 'M still asleep.."
How she ended up next to me was beyond my knowledge, but I knew she would have a bit of a hangover.
"Obviously not." I rolled my body over hers and out of the bed, stretching my legs. For someone short, my 5 feet and 3 inches was mainly leg... And boob... And jawline. I made my way to the kitchen area where surprisingly Dinah was already up and at 'em, pouring a bowl of cereal for Anthony.
"Boo!" He squealed excitedly as soon as he spotted my figure. He ran to me crashing his small frame into my shins and throwing his arms around me, "Morning babe." I lifted him and placed kisses all over his face causing him to giggle loudly.
"Aunty Dinah make see-well!"
"Cereal," I corrected, "morning Dinah." I walked over to her and smacked her butt and she smacked mine back.
"Whaddup hoe?" She quipped, "did you get your pie last night?"
I shrugged, "No, Lauren was 'too sleepy'."
"That's alright, you'll get it, girl she can't resist."
Another idea snapped to my head, "You're right. I need a favor from you. But I also have to tell you a secret." One thing Dinah Jane could not resist was a secret. She whipped around so fast that the time continuum halted.
"Spill."
I smirked, placing Anthony on the floor. I lowered my voice, "I plan to P-R-O-P-O-S-E to You know who." I spelled out the word 'propose' so Anthony wouldn't run back and tell.
I watched Dinah's face contort as she tried to spell it out for herself before her mouth made an O shape, "Oh my gosh! Seriously?! You gotta let me help, please? I promise I won't say a word!"
I placed my hand over the taller girl's mouth, "Shut up! Someone will know something if you don't hush your face."
She nodded, "Sorry fam, but put yo nasty kitten covered hands on my face one more time and I will kill you dead, got it?"
"Yikes, yes I definitely got it." I giggled.
"I want a kitten, Boo. Do you have kitties?" Anthony said from the table.
"Yes." Dinah said.
"No, I don't have a kitty. Ask mommy when she wakes up." I mumbled facepalming myself. These girls really needed to censor around my son. Wait, what? Crap. Lauren's son, around Lauren's son.
