Above is Dalia ♠

The sun crept in through my window, nearly blinding me as I open my luminous green eyes. "Shoot!" I yelp and sit up, hitting my head on the bottom of the shelf that rests over my bed. With a groan, I rub my head and scowl, my anger already bubbling up. "Stupid shelf." I grumble and jump out of bed carelessly.

I stomp over to my mirror, unbraiding my long, straight, chestnut, brown hair and grab my brush. I quickly brushed it. I was just about to give a satisfied nod, seeing that there were no large knots or tangles, only to find large one at the end of my hair. One thing that went right, I thought sarcasticly, brushing it out quickly and walked over to my closet, choosing a large, loose, grey sweater with a large crimson rose on it and some yoga pants that came up to the knee. I put my cloths on and then look in the mirror, realizing something was missing.

I bit my lip, thinking about what to add. A beanie would look good, I decided and opened my drawer. My eyes scanned the surface of my cluttered drawer. After throughly looking, I growled in frustration and began to dig for it. "Where is that stupid thing?!" I mutter angrily under my breath.

After what seemed like hours of searching, I found it. I had found my matching crimson red beanie. I smiled, feeling victorious, like I had won a war. Putting it on, I heated my curling iron. After it was heated, I curled the ends of my hair.

I had also grabbed a pair of black socks and slid them on. Finally satisfied with my look, I shove my combat boots on and grab my back and white checkered backpack. "I almost forgot!" I shout and grab my necklace which has a flat, smooth stone on it with claw marks. Clipping the hook in place around my neck, I look at the stone, which glowed a bright green. I let it flop down on my chest and hurried out of my room and headed downstairs.

As I hurried down, I could already smell pancakes and syrup. Turns out, my sister was making breakfast today. " Thanks Cara." I give her a smile even though she didn't see it.

"No problem. Did you get everything you needed for school?"

Cara has taken the role of mother, since my mom died when I was eight. Even though Cara does what she can, Cara can't replace mother. But, she's the only thing I have and since father was never around, I can't really complain now, can I? I love her to pieces anyway.

I quickly ate my pankcake, sighing softly at the thought. Cara turned the stove off and looked at me, bits of her bangs fell in her face, her warm brown eyes reflected my green ones.

"Are you thinking about mother again?" She asked, her tone was gentle. I didn't reply, I just hugged her tightly, burying my face into her shoulder. I felt her stroke my back, murmuring, "It's ok... we can go home soon." I pulled away from her, giving her a sad smile.

"Gotta get going now." I reminded her gently, "Again, thank you for everything." I grabbed my bag, and pulled out my Ipod and headphones, walking out of the house and started making my way to school. My necklace starting to vibrate quietly, as if reminding me it was almost time to head home.
