"Loki means to unleash the Hulk, keep Banner in the lab, I'm on my way, send Thor as well" Natasha's voice rang in my earpiece

Absentmindedly I glanced at Bruce

"What?" He asked

"Nothing" I looked away

Then suddenly Fury burst in the room

"What are you doing, Mr Stark?" He asked

"I've kind of been wondering the same thing about you" Tony mused

"You're supposed to be locating the tesseract" Fury angrily stated

"Yeah. The model's locked and we're shifting for the signature now" Bruce cut in

"When we have a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile" I pointed at the screen behind Fury

"Then we'll get your cube back. No muss. No fuss" Tony finished before adding "What is phase 2?"

"Phase two is SHIELD use the cube to make weapons" Steve barged in and slammed an odd looking gun on the table. "Sorry, the computer's moving a little slow for me"

"Wh-what is this?" I asked Fury

"We gathered everything related to the tesseract. This doesn't need-"

"Oh I'm sorry Nick, what were you lying?" Tony asked as the files opened up, showing the weapon designs

"I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed a bit" Steve commented

Then, Natasha, Thor and Silvermist entered the lab

"You might want to think about removing yourself from this environment, doctor" Natasha said

"I was in Calcutta. I was pretty well removed" Bruce shot back

"Loki's manipulating you" Natasha took a step forward

"And you've been doing what, exactly?" He retorted

"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes"

"And I'm not leaving because you get a little twitchy. I want to know why SHIELD is using the tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction" he swung the screen so it was facing Fury

"Because of him" Fury pointed at Thor after a moment of silence

Thor looked utterly baffled, "Me?"

"Last year, earth had a visitor from another planet. Whose grudge match leveled a small town. We learned not only that we're not alone. But we are hopelessly, hilariously out-gunned" Fury finished

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet"

"But you're not the only people out there, are you?" Fury turned to Thor, "And you're not the only threat. The world is filling up with people who can't be matched. They can't be controlled"

"Like you control the cube?" scrutinized Sil

I could practically feel Thor's blood boiling, "Your work with the tesseract is what drew Loki to it- and his allies. It is a signal to all the realms that earth is ready for a higher form of war"

"A higher form?" Steve asked, confused

"You forced our hand, we had to come up with something!" Fury exclaimed

"A nuclear deterrent. Because that always calms everything down" Tony cut in

"Remind me again how you made your fortune, Stark"

"I'm sure if you still made weapons Stark would be neck deep-" Steve accused

"Hang on!" Tony exclaimed, "How is this about me now?"
