Calum.
.
The clouds raged darker as I kicked the bike shed with full force. I threw my bag onto the ground before grunting loudly and slamming myself down to sit on one of the poles. My fists pulled at my hair, why? Why had I let him get to me again?
.
Stupid Sam. Stupid Annabelle. Stupid feelings.
.
"Calum?" My heart stopped. I looked up to see Annabelle peering at me carefully. "Are you alright?"
.
Amazing Annabelle. Amazing feelings.
.
She stepped cautiously towards me, nervous that I would snap again.
Guilt swept through me at the memory, why did I ever say those awful things?
Eventually her small body was right next to mine, her delicate hand landing on my shoulder.
.
How could one small touch make me feel so many things?
"Do you want to talk about it?"
.
I shook my head, no. If I spoke about it, I'd only get angry, and I didn't want her to see me that way. Not again.
"Okay." She mumbled. "Then-"
.
"Calum?"
.
My head snapped up to see our head-teacher before us. She eyed Annabelle up suspiciously, taking particular interest in her hand on my shoulder.
"Thank you for today. Who knew under all that you actually had feelings, hey? You still have detention for the fight, but I won't be taking it any further."
.
She gave me a small nod and I grinned, slightly stunned. My heart leapt with joy. This was as good as a miracle!
"Thank you!" I sprung up instantly.
"Thank you so much, I promise that I won't fight anyone ever again, I-"
.
"Yes, alright." She cut me off, smiling a little. Then she turned her attention to Annabelle. "You be careful though, Mrs Clark. This boy is trouble. Don't let what happened today fool you." She warned and walked off without another word.
.
Anddd, I was straight back to hating our snooty head mistress.
I turned to Annabelle, beyond suspicious.
"What did you do?"
.
She stood, pulling a confused face.
"I didn't do anything." She shrugged, starting to walk. "Come on then, I have manners to teach you." She called and I groaned, speeding up to catch her fast pace.
.
•*•*•*•*•
.
"Umm, I'm not sure. Probably mint chocolate chip, but I mean all ice cream is good."
.
"Even banana ice cream?" She screwed up her face in disgust.
.
I nodded, a smile etching across my lips. "Even banana ice cream."
.
"But-" Annabelle was about to argue my decision when the almost black sky above us cracked with thunder. She looked at me slowly, knowing exactly what the weather here was like. "Crap." She mumbled, under her breath. It was the first time I'd ever heard her swear.
.
Not even seconds later, torrential rain down poured onto us so fiercely that I nearly got pushed to the floor. It wasn't a slow at first thing at all. It was one drop, then a billion. Realising we were only half way home, I turned to Annabelle, horrified.
.
But she was finding it absolutely hilarious. Her soaking hair clung to her face as she began to laugh.
"What's funny?" I yelled over the downpour.
.
"Oh, don't be so miserable. This is fun!" She yelled back, giving me a gentle nudge. I rolled my eyes, pretending to be annoyed, but to be honest, the whole time I was secretly finding it absolutely adorable.
.
We stood there, dumbfounded for a few more moments, before Annabelle grabbed my hand and pulled.
"Are we going to go home or what?"
She laughed, letting go as I started to move.
.
Sighing, I took her hand back in mine and began to run, pulling her me. We ran and ran until we passed an entertainment shop, loud music blaring out. Both of us were totally breathless, and by now, even I was laughing.
.
The music blared harder against the rain and Annabelle smiled happily, bobbing her head up and down to the tune whilst I caught back my breath.
.
I suddenly had an idea, bowing down to the beautiful girl before me and holding out my hand.
"May I have this dance?" I smirked.
.
She laughed, taking my hand as we jumped about, lost in our own world, having a great time.
.
When we eventually reached my house, we both let out a sigh, thankful for the heating. Our clothes were absolutely soaked through. I look over at Annabelle and my mouth becomes dry.
Her white shirt has gone see through from the rain, all her outfit clinging to her in just the right places.
.
She looked amazing. I know I'm staring so I quickly clear my throat.
"Um, w-would you like to borrow some dry clothes?" I asked, forcing my eyes up to meet hers. If she was in something less clingy, I may be able to breathe properly.
.
She nodded, pushing the wet hair from her face. "Yes please."
.
I lead her up to my room and search a little frantically through my drawers.
Finally I find my smallest shirt and a pair of pyjama trousers.
I give her an apologetic look as I sheepishly hand her the clothes.
"Sorry I don't have anything that will fit."
.
She smiles as she takes them from me.
"Thank you. Where can I change?"
.
"Oh, er right. Yeah. I'll be downstairs."
I shake my own pile of clothes in my hand, giving her a wave and shutting the door behind me.
.
~~~
.
After I changed, I walked dreamily back up to my room. I had realised only the day before that the days I spent with Annabelle were quickly becoming my favourite days.
.
Pushing the door open, I gasped as Annabelle stood before me I only her underwear.
.
Holy shit.
.
She turned, wide eyed, just as surprised to see me. Meanwhile, I was loosing my mind. I had never felt so libidinous, and she looked so hot. I swallowed harshly, covering my eyes.
.
"Shit, I'm sorry. I just- I thought, um." I babbled, totally flustered.
"I'll be downstairs." I eventually forced out, closing the door quickly and breathing heavier than when I had been running.
.
I sat downstairs, my hands nervously rubbing my thighs.
Oh my god.
I had feelings for Annabelle Clark.
Me!
The realisation hit me like a ton of bricks. It's just a crush.
It's no big deal . . . Right?
.
