Calum
*•*•*I was in love. Me! I never thought it would happen and yet here I am, watching Annabelle as she spoke to the librarian about something. I watched as she nervously kept changing the position of her stance and how she would twiddle her soft, beautiful hair and every so often would release a coy giggle due to her anxious demeanour.
.
Was it too soon to be in love? Should I tell her? No. Not yet, I couldn't. It could scare her away and I never wanted to loose her. Eventually she span around and as soon as she noticed my presence she broke out into a giant grin, her eyes lighting up as I felt a twang in my heart, I just wanted her with me all the time.
"Calum." She smiled, increasing her speed before crashing into my torso for a hug.
.
"Hello, honey bunny bumpkin." She giggled into my school shirt. "What?" I laughed too.
.
"Please don't call me that." She laughed, her voice muffled from still hugging me.
.
"What about, baby cakes?"
.
"Oh god, no! Never that." She cringed, making me chuckle.
.
"Petal? Cupcake? Sugar plum?"
.
She pulled away, a state of laughter. I loved how easy it was to make her laugh, even more than that I loved her laugh, it was almost my favourite thing about her. Placing my drink to my lips, Annabelle calmed down.
.
"Only if I can call you sugar daddy." She laughed and I nearly spat out my water.
.
"Annabelle!" I exclaimed, shocked by what she had just said. Her face panicked and I knew she was worried she had said something wrong.
"Do you know what that means?" I couldn't help but laugh a little.
.
Her cheeks pinked as she shook her head innocently.
"Is it a bad thing?" She looked around us to see if anyone heard. "Would it offend anyone?"
.
"No it's okay." I smiled adoringly, pulling her down to sit next to me on the squishy bench.
"It's when a young girl is given money from an old man if they go out with them or sometimes even sleep with them."
.
Annabelle covered her mouth.
"Oops." She giggled. "People really do that?"
.
"Yes!" Smiling, I leaned into kiss her forehead. "So please don't ever call me sugar daddy." I grinned as we both began to laugh, each of us completely and utterly smitten with one another. I leant in to give her a kiss, one which I couldn't refrain from lengthening as her hands silked through my hair and mine rested on her sides.
.
Wolf whistles tore us apart as we looked up to discover Sam, Angus and Tye.
"Well, well, well! What do we have here?" Sam raised his bushy eyebrows. Both Angus and Tye seemed confused, obviously they had missed out from the hundreds of rumours spreading about us. The majority of people knew by now, or so I thought.
"I told you two, he's with her now." Sam glared at the two of us and I instinctively wrapped an arm around Annabelle knowing she'd be frightened.
.
Tye grew quiet whereas Angus burst out laughing. Annabelle began to heat up, clearly ashamed.
"What's so funny?" I snapped.
.
He smiled a toothy grin, his eyes even smirking. "Just something I never thought I'd see, that's all." He shrugged.
.
Sam stepped forward and I felt as Annabelle flinched. It made me angry.
"Watch out Annabelle, what I told you was the truth. I'll get you proof."
.
My heart stopped. He'd already started on her and I didn't even know. Rage swept through my veins as I held her delicate body closer.
"What are you talking about?"
.
Sam rolled his eyes impatiently.
"It's none of your concern, lover boy."
.
"It damn well is my concern if your doing anything to her." I stepped up, but Annabelle took my hand.
.
"Sit down, Calum. He's not worth it."
I looked into her beautiful hazel eyes, my muscles instantly unclenching as I grew calmer again.
.
Angus and Sam began to make whipping noises and my blood boiled all over again. I yanked away from Annabelle and gripped Sam's collar, backing him into a stacked shelf.
"How many times do I have to do this before you get the point?" I growled, squaring up and getting ready to fight before Annabelle ran between the two of us.
.
"Please, Cal. Let's just go somewhere else."
.
I sighed heavily, trying to push some of the anger out, mostly trying not to take it out on her.
"Leave her alone." I glared at Sam, pulling Annabelle towards me and walking away.
.
She squeezed my hand sympathetically and I knew walking away was the best thing to have done. I kissed her forehead and wrapped my arm around her small shoulders as we roamed the school halls.
"Why didn't you tell me that Sam had said things to you?"
.
She looked at me, clearly uncertain.
"He's said 'things' to me all my life, I didn't think it was a big deal. He's a bully after all."
.
*•*•*•*
.
Annabelle and I were curled up on my bed whilst her sister scurried around downstairs. I wondered how much longer she'd have to babysit us.
"It's just my family, they're really good at making me feel invisible, unless I'm doing the wrong thing."
.
"Hey, they love you, Annabelle . . . It's just, they aren't people to show feelings."
I didn't understand. How could she ever be invisible? She was all I could see.
.
She smiled up at me and I swear to god I nearly yelled at her that I was in love right there and then, but Cassandra walked in, she never knocked, and we sat up.
"I'm just going to the toilet." Annabelle mumbled, getting up and walking out.
.
The tension between the two was clear today, they must have argued about something, it was uncomfortable.
Cassandra gasped at the pile of screwed up clothes on my bed and I smiled at the memory of Annabelle doing the same when she first started coming round.
.
"They're just clothes." I told her what I had Annabelle.
.
She shook her head and walked over to me, holding out her hands so that she could fold them. When she got close, she tripped over the cable on my floor and fell on to me, smacking me into my bed so we were both lying down.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry! Usually it's Annabelle who's the clumsy one." She blushed and I laughed at how clumsy her sister was and thought of all the times that I'd had to help her off the ground or clean something she'd spilt down her.
.
My stomach dropped as I heard Annabelle's footsteps.
"Oh . . ."
