All school activities were placed on a hold that day as the number of detectives sweeping through the entire school seemed to multiply by the minute. The parking lot where the security had had been murdered had been marked as an 'Out-of-bound' area, this made the front yard of the school look absolutely different from its usual state of serenity to some sort of disheveled refuse house of vehicles, mostly from the police department. The locked down library seemed to be the strangest of all, especially when the only ones who were seen around there were cops, instead of the usual reflow of students around the block.

The school's Vice-Chancellor addressed everyone later on in the day after all the tension had eased off a bit. Apparently, the news of two dead staffs in one night had taken the students aback as it came with so much mystery to it. A subtle evening breeze swept through the entire football field in which over 2000 students were seated, more eager than ever to know what all the police patrols had come up with. "It's no cause for alarm," the bald, gray bearded V.C had said to them, "although everyone has to be on alert for any suspicious acts."

Henry clasped his palms and gave a sigh from where he sat on the field; it just wasn't making any sense to him still, following the events that had happened earlier in the day, one thing was now almost certain to him: whatever it was this thing wanted, it sure had managed to involve the entire school in it.

"New cameras have been setup around the school," the microphone squealed, bringing Henry back into consciousness of his surrounding, "the corridors, halls, corners ...every part of the school have been placed under surveillance."

The large display screen towering over the entire field came to life; virtually the entire school was being displayed from the new re-installed CCTV cameras from all around the school, including the football field itself.

Chris shook his head, "I don't think they get it yet," he said to Henry whose attention had been drawn keenly to the screen. As much as he wished the school authorities were right-at least for once, the signs were just too strong to be ignored. The V.C continued with his speech of 'hope' when suddenly the display screen went off with a loud snapping sound, alongside the entire floodlights causing a ripple of terrified whimpers across the entire field as darkness enveloped the area.

Lord Jesus, muffled a shocked Chris whose heart beat was starting to go on an override. The murmurs got louder as the V.C alongside other staffs tried to calm the students.

"It's only a glitch" said the V.C on top of his voice and then with a whirling sound, the floodlights came up slowly but the screen never did. The noise died off negligibly, Henry's erect hairs slowly relaxed after that moment of shock.

Later on, the students were ushered back to their respective hostels, one couldn't quite tell if they had gotten more tense than they had left or it was the peace of mind they had that actually amounted to the questioning appearance of the students. But it was the boys hostel right? Somebody was sure to change the entire mood once they got into the hostel with some loud turnt up music.

"Guys, is there something you're not saying?" Kendrick asked, quite concerned as he sat up on the bed, he had noticed the Chris' movements as he rose out of bed towards the water dispenser. The sight of the newly mounted CCTVs along the hallway had set a chain of thoughts in motion in his head, giving him quite an uncomfortable sleepless night and he just couldn't keep it all in any longer.

"There's nothing to worry about," Henry replied from across the room, imitating the bald gray bearded professor. The pressure in the room lessened even more as their laughter bounced off the walls of their hostel room in that wee hour of the day.

"There's something beyond cameras within this school walls," Chris said, downing some water, "but you know adults, they never agree." He took another sip before setting the glass ware back on the table behind him. It dropped to the floor, shattering into pieces which caused him to turn in surprise. Chris stared dumfounded at the table and then the glass cup just a few inches away from it.

"Is that alcoholic water?" Henry teased, sitting up on the bed and joining Kendrick in laughing.

"You know you'd have to clear that now," Kendrick added. Chris still didn't reply but rather seemed fixed at the spot where he stood.

"Did you guys..." he paused and then looked at the table and back at his friends, "...could've sworn the table had moved."

"It definitely has to be alcoholic water."
Chris gave a sarcastic laughter, "funny."
"Whatever man, just clear that up," Kendrick replied, sliding out of bed and getting into his slippers, "gotta take a leak."

"Y'know what time it is?" Chris asked with raised eyebrows in a note of disbelief, his eyes flashed past the clock; 5.a m.

"The toilet's just down the floor," Kendrick replied, quite unsure of what the remark was really about, "plus it's already day break."

Chris' grip loosened on the arm of the broom as he watched his roommate step into the hallway, the door shut behind him and his footstep could be heard fading away slowly. Henry sat up more comfortably on the bed, his eyes met Chris' terrified one and then he moved his gaze to the door. There was a moment of tense silence as the two friends waited in the room expectantly, eyes fixed at the entrance.

A thud sounded from the hallway sending a ripple of shockwave across their body as they shuddered in alarm. Their eyes locked in panic as it sounded again, leaving them temporarily paralyzed. It sounded multiple times in less than a moment, like that of something being pounded by something and then came Kendrick's loud yell.

The broom slipped out of Chris' hand as Henry got out of bed in a flash. The two friends dashed towards the door, tugging at the knob almost in the same instance. The door flung open and they bolted into the hallway, heading right in the rest room's direction as a couple of doors also got unlocked.

Their hearts jumped in their mouths the moment they busted through the door way of the lavatory. Standing there was a fear-stricken Kendrick who seemed quite paralyzed and it was quite justified. Henry's breathing stopped at the sight of the sentence splattered on the walls and doors of the entire place in bright crimson and arranged at the center of the room was the body parts of a human.
