Annabeth's POV

Tonight is the night of the dance. I'm so excited, and I can't wait to
put on my dress. I'm usually never happy about dances and dresses, but this is my first dance and everything has to go perfect.

Katie was over at Clarisse's house so we could get ready together. Unfortunately Hazel is here as well.

"Are you guys excited?" Katie asked. I nodded my head while Clarisse shook it.

"It's going to be so boring." Clarisse said.

"It'll be fun. You don't even have to dance." Hazel said. Clarisse rolled her eyes.

"Do you have a date?" I asked Clarisse. She nodded.

"Chris." She said.

"You guys would make a cute couple." Katie said.

As we finished getting ready for the dance we started to talk a little bit.

"Katie who's your date?" I asked. She blushed a little bit.

"Travis." She said. I raised my eyebrow.

"But doesn't he like prank you all the time and stuff?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders.

"Yeah, but he's cute." She said. I shook my head.

The doorbell rang through the house. Hazel went to go get it. Chris stepped inside the house. Clarisse left with him without even saying a goodbye.

"And then there were three." Hazel said.

"Make that two. Travis is here." Katie said and left. The silence filled the air between Hazel and I.

"Annabeth-." Hazel started, but I cut her off.

"I know, I know, you're sorry and all. I forgive you. I can take some blame in this too. I'm sorry for not listening to what you had to say to me. And you were right, it can't always be like this. So please accept my apology." I said. She nodded and reached in for a hug.

"I'm so sorry. I should have been sincere about your feelings and what you were going through. I should be the only one apologizing." She said.

"We're both sorry." I said. She smiled.

The doorbell rang and Frank came in. I waved her goodbye.

"Have a nice night." I told her. She waved back and left. I sat there on the couch and waited for 5 minutes until I got bored. Percy's always late. I should expect this from him. I looked around for something to do and there was a pack of cigarettes

I contains myself from taking one. On the other hand there was nothing to do. I couldn't take it anymore. I grabbed the cigarettes and lit it up. The smoke came out of my mouth and into the air. I should've stop right there, but I didn't.

Time passed and I knew that he wasn't coming for me. I should of knew that this was too good to be true.

It was already an hour of the whole dance, and it lasted for two hours. I tried to not let my angry tears fall out of my eyes, but it did. I crossed my arms and tried to not scream.

I changed into my pj's and went to bed. I shut my eyes and started thinking of ways to make Percy pay.

I will never forget about this and I'll make sure that he knows that.
