Annabeth's POV.

Students pushed their way through to see who made it to the talent show. I just waited until there was more space. Everybody was either smiling with joy or crying because they didn't make it. I don't think that's something you should cry about.

"Don't you want to see if you got in?" Percy asked beside me. I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm just waiting for everyone to clear off." I told him. He didn't listen to me and dragged me through the crowd of students. I rolled my eyes, but let him pull me away. We got to the front and looked through the list.

I didn't see my name until it was the second to last name. I smiled a little bit.

"Hey, you got in. Proud of you." Percy said.

"I'm happy, but to be honest...a little part of me didn't want to get in. I was hoping I didn't have to sing on stage at all." I told him. He turned me to face him.

"You will do so fine. I guarantee that I will be the loudest one in the crowd cheering you on." He said. I gave him a weak smile.

"Yeah, and I will be cheering you on when you try out for the swim team." I said. He looked at me a little weary.

"I don't really know if I have the guts to really try out for the swim team. I might not get picked." He told me. I widened my eyes.

"Oh no. You are trying out whether you like it or not. You encouraged me to try out for the show, and I'm not going to let you slack off. Do you hear me?!" I said. He raised his hands up like he was surrendering.

"Calm down, princess. I'll try out for the team." He told me. I glared at him and punched his shoulder.

"Don't call me princess. Now walk me to class." I said and held his hand. He just grinned squeezed my hand. We were on out way to science class. We took our seats on the back of the class. His friends sat on the right of him while mine sat on my left.

As usual I didn't pay attention to anything the teacher was saying. I looked around the classroom, looking at everyone else. People were doodling on their papers. As you can tell nobody like science at all.

This was gonna be a long day.

Lunch

"Why do teachers give us so much homework anyway?" Thalia asked. I shook my head.

"Because they have it out for us. They always had ever since we stepped foot in this school." I answered.

"Hey, some teachers are fairly nice." Percy said. I have him a weird look. He hates school more than me, and that's saying something.

"Um like who?" I asked.

"Miss. Dodds." I started to laugh my head off.

"Yeah, okay. I don't believe you for a second. Miss. Dodds doesn't like you and you don't like her." I said. He just laughed it off.

"Anyway, what are you going to sing. I personally think that you should do an original." Hazel said.

"I never wrote an original song before, and I don't know the first thing in writing my own song." I told her.

"Okay stop lying. Remember the time I went to your house? Yeah well while you were in the bathroom I started to snoop around. You know what I saw? A song book with original songs." She said. I crossed my arms and stared at her.

"First of all, I'm never letting you come over to my house again. And second, don't ever snoop around my stuff." I told her. She just smiled at me while I blushed in embarrassment.

"I didn't know you write songs. Could you sing one of them?" Percy asked. I glared at him and shook my head slowly.

"You know lunch is almost over I'm gonna head out to my locker." I said and quickly stood up. I did not write to sing anything of mine in front of anybody.

I walked down the hallway off to my locker. When I got it it I heard my name being called. I turned around and saw our music teacher.

"Oh hey Mr. How are you doing?" I asked.

"Oh fine. I just wanted to speak to you about something real quick." He said.

"Uh okay."

"Well I just wanted to say first that you did a fantastic job on your audition. I wanted to tell you the prize if someone won and did an outstanding job." He said. My eyes widened.

"Well what is it?!"

"A record deal."
