The One that Got Away

"Look Babe, your in the front page again." Vanessa giggled and showed me the magazine.

Humithit muna ako sa hawak kong sigarilyo bago pinatay iyon sa ashtray at inabot ang magazine. Walang interest na tiningnan ko iyon, paulit-ulit lang naman ang nababasa ko doon kaya hindi na bago.

"I need to go." 

"What? You just got here." reklamo nito.

"Remember who you are to me Vanessa." walang ganang sabi ko sa kanya at sinuot na ang mga damit na nagkalat sa sahig.

I saw pain in her eyes but it I don't give a damn. 

"But I love you Forest!"

Tumigil ako sa paghakbang at iiling-iling na napalingon ulit dito. "Don't be stupid Vanessa, love doesn't exist." I said like it is the most hilarious jokes I ever heard.

"I knew you know that thing exist Forest. You loved someone before right?"

I clenched my fist in irritation. "It's none of your fucking business Vanessa!"

"Let me recall her name. Is it P...Pain? The one that got away?"

Ang karampot na pagpipigil ay tuloyan ko ng napigtas. That's it! Malalaking hakbang ang ginawa ko para malapitan siya ulit at marahas na hinawakan sa braso. "You shut up or I will smash your dirty fucking mouth bitch?!"

Napangiwi ito sa sakit pero hindi ko pinansin iyon. "I don't know what happened to both of you but give me a chance and I promise I can replace her in your heart baby."

"Nobody can replace her, especially you."

Marahas ko siyang binitiwan at napaupo ito sa sahig. Tumuloy na akong lumabas sa kwartong iyon. Just hearing her name is like getting those painful memories come back to life. The greatest love of my life and also the loved who made me become like this. Napakalayo sa dating Forest.

I become ruthless heartless jerk.

 I can destroy someone if they get in my way.

If I want something, I'll get it no matter what. 

I don't care if I hurt someone.

They called me a 'Monster' and the fuck I care? 

I want to show the world, that this is the new me and they should use to it because the old me will never return!

Pababa na ako papuntang parking lot ng makatanggap ako ng tawag mula kay Pyro. 

"Hey dre, I got news for you."

"Say it, I'm busy right now." walang emosyong sabi ko.

Both my family and friends were shocked when I revealed the new me. 

"She's back."

"Who?" walang ideyang tanong ko.

"Pain."

"I don't have a time for this Pyro, if your fucking playing---"

"Then see it to yourself Mr. Everton, you can find her where you two first met." anito at pinutol na ang linya.

Nag-igting ang mga panga ko at malakas na napamura. What now? After 8 years huh? Tsk. Marahas kong binuksan ang pinto ng kotse at binuhay ang makita. I should not care about that, but something is telling me that I need to go and see if it's true.
