'oh c'mon luke! it was a joke!!' ashton yelled, running after the boy him and his two friends just soaked with buckets of water.
'fuck you!'
ashton started to think that he went too far, so he ran after him. he grabbed his wrist, turning him around with a chuckle.
he definitely went too far.
he realized that when he saw the tears in his eyes.
'luke, it was just a little prank-'
'yeah ashton, i fucking know, and repeating that six times won't make it any better.' he growled, keeping his watery blues away. ashton furrowed his eyebrows, frowned, and tilted his head. he wasn't used to anyone getting upset over his jokes, he was the popular class clown, if someone was pranked they would just playfully push and laugh.
'luke..i really didn't mean to upset you like this-'
'yeah?!' he yelled, ripping his wrist away.
'and i'm an idiot for believing that you actually wanted a date ashton, but no..you never take anything seriously do you?! try remembering that when you've fucked with someone's emotions.'
and luke stormed away, leaving ashton in a puddle of guilt next to the puddle of water luke left behind from his hoodie.so the next day ashton walked into school, his eyebrows furrowed on his shoes as he walked the hallways. he ended up plopped down in math class, thinking that luke was right, he did joke..a lot. he didn't take his grades seriously, his friendships were all over the place and he shrugged when he got in trouble.
'hey luke, can you text me the english homework?' that snapped him out of his thoughts, looking to see red headed michael clifford, luke's best friend, asking with a smile.
'nope.'
michael pouted. 'why not?'
'i have to get a new phone, something about water damage.' he shot a glance to ashton, who blushed and twiddled his thumbs.
you're an asshole ashton.'mr. hemmings, did you believe that the main character deserved a second chance?' the teacher had asked, ashton's eyes shooting up from his paper at his name.
'yeah.'
'explain..'
'well..' he cleared his throat. 'some people do deserve second chances.'
'well what's the catch?' she asked.
'i guess, that if they truly knew they messed up then..i say that they most likely should get a second chance.'
and at the end of the day, luke got up when the doorbell rang and opened it slowly, meeting ashton's gaze, luke's eyebrows raising.
'i know i truly messed up. don't you think i deserve a second chance?' he asked quietly, a blush dusting his cheeks.
luke giggled, rolling his eyes, but nodded.
'you've got to be kidding me.'
