merman! michael sobbing his eyes out because he was just captured and thrown into a cell on a ship and now he knows he's gonna get killed so ashton is watching from far away because he's actually scared to get close but when he sees the merman crying that's when his heart softens and breaks 'i don't wanna die god, please, i don't..' he sobbed and ashton's eyes saddened 'hey love..' he walked in and michael gasped, scooting back as far as he could 'hey i won't hurt you' and michael shakes his head because he doesn't believe that for a fucking second, 'c'mon i'm getting you out' and it's a long ass process but before michael jumps in the water he kisses ashton hard and mumbles against his lips 'we aren't all tied' and then he jumps in, leaving ashton confused so it's four months later when ashton is sitting in class and the door opens 'oh class this is michael! he's a new student!' and ashton's lips part like michael's do when they meet eyes and now ashton gets what he meant..not all merman are tied to water.
