"Dinner is ready!" Jessie called after about an hour. "What'd you make?" I ask her. "Just steak." She says. "That quickly?" Rhett said. Jessie nods proudly.
We all eat and fall in love with the food. "This is really good Jessie." Lily said eating more and more.
"I have a question, why is your kitchen covered with flour?" Jessie said. "Well, um. We had a California snowball fights." Rhett replied. "What is that?" "Well, it's our snowball fight because it never snows here, so we decided it would be fun." I said. "Smart."
We all continued eating until Rhett broke the silence. "Jessie, me and Link are a couple." It was silent.
"Finally. Once we divorced I thought you guys were going to date. I'm happy for you too!" She said. "Thank you so much. Honestly, I didn't expect that reaction!" I said. We finished up dinner and everyone helped with the dishes, including Jessie.
"Hey, Jessie, could I talk to you? Privately" Rhett said. He walks her over to a room and locks it.
I don't like the thought of this.
