I sat on the ground next to Tiana with tears running down my face. My heart felt like it was tearing apart.
"What do I do?" My life couldn't get any worse. I was confused, scared, and vulnerable. Everything I knew was torn away from me. My boyfriend isn't the person I thought he was, my mom was disgusted with me, but the worse thing of all is that I don't even know myself anymore.
Tiana wiped my tears from my face with the pad of her thumbs. She lifted my chin to look at her. "Let me ask you a serious question. If you tasted the best piece of cake in your life, would you still continue to eat it even if a few people tell you its disgusting and dislike it?" I nodded my head.
"Exactly. So why would you give up the chance to be with someone who makes you happy based on what other people would think? The point is you shouldn't. When you leave this house I want you to make a decision, not for another but for yourself. You deserve to be happy C. So make the choice that will make you happy."
