but it came without fear. a month turned into a year. i wasn't expecting that.

Luke was with Ashton, but Luke got sadder.
Luke heard the voices even more.
People at school were bullying Luke, and Ashton never found out.
The bullies called him mean names like fat, ugly, worthless, and a waste of space.
That's what the voices told him too.
Luke thought about this while looking at the little dots of red on his wrist.
Luke liked that feeling.
But he liked the feeling of being with Ashton more.
Ashton made Luke happy.
And Luke made Ashton happy.

The bullies got so bad that Luke kept wanting to see the little red dots on his wrist.
And so Luke did what he had to do to get what he wanted.
And one month of that turned into a year of that.
Luke didn't even recognize the time passing by,
He didn't care.
He was numb.
Unless he was with Ashton, of course.
But Ashton didn't know about any of this.
Ashton thought Luke stopped.
But when Luke accidently exposed what he has been hiding for a year,
Ashton was disappointed.
Not in Luke, but in himself for not noticing.
For not noticing that his boyfriend was sad.
Luke didn't like himself, and Ashton thought it was just a phase.
Luke was so good at hiding it.
Ashton wasn't expecting that.
