Hey guys! I'm happy that I'm able to update after 2 days, I've been writing more recently :-) Good news is that my holidays are coming up, so I'll probably be able to upload every 2 days. There's a bit of Seungcheol's childhood in this story, which will be further talked about in future chapters.
Alright, enjoy this chapter, there's a new character! (hint: she's from Twice, aka my favourite girl group!)
---Jeonghan smiled, he liked when Seungcheol complimented him. He sat on the steps for a drink of water, Seungcheol following him closely behind. He was sweaty and gross, he didn't want him to see him like that. He turned away to wipe up his face with a towel and tied his hair into a neater ponytail.
"Hey, let me try tying your hair! It looks fascinating," He scurried over behind Jeonghan and took the hair tie from him. He clumsily tried to gather all of his hair, his fingers inevitably brushing against Jeonghan's ear. He shuddered at their sudden contact, his ears and cheeks turning extremely red.
As Seungcheol fumbled around with his hair, Jeonghan couldn't help but feel so embarrassed to admit that he was actually enjoying this. He was enjoying bodily contact with another human. Seungcheol soon got fed up trying to catch all the hair together and threw the hair tie at him.
"This is too difficult, how do you do this?" He asked, genuinely amazed by Jeonghan. Seungcheol was so cute when he smiled from ear to ear, his eyes twinkling with passion. Yet, he was charismatic and manly when he exercised and coached the team. How is it humanly possible to be that perfect?
He was caught daydreaming, and was snapped out of it by Seungcheol's sudden clap in front of his face.
"Yah! What was that for!" Jeonghan huffed, he'd never admit to being timid though. The other boy laughed, and continued going on and on about how amazing Jeonghan was. He couldn't help but blush. He hadn't been complimented so sweetly in a long time, it was nice to hear it once in a while.
---He was surprised that Jeonghan didn't brush his hand away when he attempted to tie his hair. His insides were beaming with excitement, it was the first time he didn't shy away from Seungcheol's bold attempts at skinship.
With such a beautiful boy sitting right in front of him, he couldn't help but compliment him tirelessly. He'd never get tired of those large, twinkling eyes and that long, silky hair. Jeonghan merely blushed, he seemed to to be enjoying it as much as Seungcheol, which was unusual.
He chuckled to himself, pleasantly surprised by Jeonghan's peculiar change in attitude to all this skinship. His thoughts were interrupted when the boy in front of him suddenly shot up from his seating position.
"Oh crap, it's 3.30! I'm going to miss my bus! I'm sorry, but I've got to go right now," Jeonghan mumbled apologetically whist fumbling with all his belongings. Seungcheol helped him put his bottle into his bag and waved to him as he hurried off. Suddenly, he felt a heavy stare on him from the back. He turned around, to see his ex-girlfriend standing a few metres away, staring right at him.
'Mina pleaded with him. I was drunk, really! He shrugged her hands off his body, he never truly loved her anyway. You have the audacity to come back to me after all that? He couldn't stand the sight of her anymore, she disgusted him. Even if she was drunk, she should have stopped herself, it wasn't an excuse for two-timing him. Fine! Be that way, I don't need you. She stormed off, and their two year relationship ended just like that.'
He still missed her sometimes, he still regretted ending it just like that sometimes. But he found himself thinking of her less and less once there was Jeonghan in his life, that's a good thing, right? He stared at her for a good five seconds, but was cut off by a call from his mother.
---Jeonghan ran towards the bus stop. The time spent with Seungcheol was so enjoyable, he had forgotten to take notice of the time. As he neared the bus stop, his usual bus dashed by without stopping. He huffed in frustration, he was going to be late again, the bus intervals were stupidly long.
He slumped onto one of the empty seats at the stop and opened his bag, taking out a book. He slid on his spectacles and dove right into the book, the bus wasn't coming in 20 minutes anyway. 10 minutes into his book, he saw a car brake in front of the bus stop, and Seungcheol was sitting in the passenger seat, with his mother in the driver's seat.
"You missed the bus so my mum offered to fetch you to your destination!" He chirped. His mother shot Jeonghan a friendly smile and gestured for him to get into the car. He hesitated, but he couldn't afford to reach home late. He sighed and accepted the offer, slipping into the car, next to Seungcheol.
"Hi Auntie. Just drop me at the bus stop near Block 53," He politely murmured, he didn't know how to deal with the sudden meeting of Seungcheol's mother. She seemed nice enough, but he couldn't bring himself to strike up a conversation.
She nodded, and the awkward silence between the three of them was so unnerving, Jeonghan picked at his nails until there was hardly any left. He shuffled closer to Jeonghan and held his right hand.
"It's ok, my mum won't eat you up!" He must have sensed his social anxiety. Jeonghan shot him a thankful smile and stopped fidgeting, trying to calm his nerves. Seungcheol continued to slowly rub the palm of his hand, which surprisingly made him feel a lot better.
Before he knew it, Seungcheol's mother pulled over at the bus stop. Three fifty two, just enough time to get home. He thanked his mother profusely, stepping out of the car. Seungcheol stroked the back of his hand once more, mouthing see you soon. Jeonghan smiled, before sprinting back home.
---Seungcheol liked the touch of his hand, big yet soft. He sighed, closing his eyes in hopes of catching a nap before he reached home.
"Cheol-ah, it's time to wake up, we're home," His mother tapped him on the shoulder, before turning to the house. He woke up groggy, but picked up his bag and made his way up to his room anyway.
He pounced onto the bed and into his soft duvet sheets, tired from school and soccer practice. He glanced at the pair of shoes next to his cupboard, and couldn't help but sigh. His father's death was so unfair, why?
'The police came knocking on the door. 10-year-old Seungcheol opened the door, excited to see policemen in real life for the first time. Mummy! The police uncles are here! His mother rushed to the front door, her eyebrows furrowed. She led Seungcheol into the house, before going out and closing the door behind her. He stood behind the wooden door, attempting to eavesdrop.
After 5 minutes of inaudible conversation, his mother trudged back into the house, tears rolling down her cheeks. He didn't know what had happened, but he ran up to her and hugged her tightly. Mummy, what's wrong? He didn't like it when she cried. Daddy... Daddy was in a car accident, Cheol-ah. He's in a better place now.'
He couldn't stop that stray tear that leaked out, he missed his father so much. It was all the drunk driver's fault, but they were the ones being punished. That irresponsible driver wasn't even caught! He didn't deserve to die like that, but there was nothing Seungcheol could do, the accident happened 7 years ago, the driver might not even be in Korea now.
He closed his eyes, think happier thoughts. Jeonghan immediately surfaced in his brain, his smile, his voice, made life so much easier. Meeting him, was probably one of the best things that has happened to Seungcheol.
---Jeonghan has Jisoo, Seungcheol has Mina :-) there will be more about her in future chapters! Who else freaking loved their Weekly Idol episode??? LIKE JUN SLAYYYY THOSE KISSES
