Hey guys! I want you guys to know that it truly takes time to think of a story for a chapter and then proceed to write it, so do forgive for this overdue update and enjoy this chapter. Hope you like it :-)
---The teacher hit her palms hard on the whiteboard, announcing that the test had ended. Jeonghan sighed and slumped into his chair, he had spent half the time just killing time, he finished the paper in no time. He patiently waited for the teacher to go round the class to collect papers, he was sitting at the back of the class after all. He never had to worry about small tests, they were a piece of cake to him.
He turned to look at Seungcheol on his left, who had his face cupped with his two hands and his eyes closed. I wonder how it went for him.
"Students, you may now stand up to collect your bags and go for your next class," The teacher quickly said whilst counting the papers. He walked over to Seungcheol, and could tell that the older boy was disappointed by the looks of his face. Jeonghan couldn't help but feel bad that his tutoring didn't help.
"How did it go?" He asked, concerned. Seungcheol shook his head and picked at his fingernails, which was a major bad habit he had when he was anxious.
"Not well... It's like I blanked out right when I saw the questions! I don't know, but Chemistry just isn't my thing!" He was frustrated that he could never do well for this stupid subject that was going to pull down his entire grade.
"Hey, meet me after school, I'll bring you somewhere to cheer you up!" He mustered up some courage and suggested to the older boy. It was somewhere he always turned to when he was upset before he met Seungcheol, whenever he quarrelled with his father or when he missed his brother like mad or when he yearned for a hug from his mother. Jeonghan was sure that that place could cheer him up. Seungcheol's face immediately lit up.
"Sure! Meet at your locker, I'll text you once my class ends," With that, he skipped to the front of the class to pick up his bad and made his way to his second class. For once, Jeonghan couldn't wait for school to end.
---He wondered where Jeonghan was going to take him, but he was excited all the same. This was probably the first time he took the initiative to ask Seungcheol on a... date? It might just seem like a meet-up for Jeonghan with no strings attached, but in his head, Seungcheol wanted it to be a date so bad, but he couldn't simply ask the younger boy out. He didn't have the guts, he didn't want to risk this amazing friendship.
It was fascinating that within a short one and a half months of meeting Jeonghan, they had warmed up to each other so much. That within this small period of time, he had managed to fall head over heels for this angel. He obviously still couldn't bring himself to talk about their fathers and the accident seven years ago, but he believed if all went well, he'd be able to in no time. And maybe even confess, maybe.
During lunch break, he ran to the art room, hoping to catch Jeonghan there. Suddenly, Seungcheol remembered that his coaches had scheduled a practice for his team, and he didn't want to miss out. It was Monday and the soccer season for high schools in Korea was starting in less than two weeks. If they played well, they'd even make it to the state competition, which had always been a dream of Seungcheol.
"Wonwoo, Mingyu, where's everyone?" He glanced at his watch, it was two minutes into recess and there were only five boys there.
"They're grabbing some snacks for the rest before training. They should come back soon, no worries hyung!" Wonwoo patted his back as he and Mingyu headed to the field together to do some warm-ups. Seungcheol's leg was better than ever, and he wanted to play in the competition so bloody badly, but he couldn't afford to worsen the injury or he'd have to give up soccer forever.
