Luke tried, he really did. He just missed Michael a lot. It had been four months of marriage and two months since he'd last seen him and it was really taking a toll on the blond.
Luke wanted Michael beside him, curled up in front of the fireplace while they sipped on hot chocolate. Luke wanted to lick the whipped cream off Michael's nose because he never fails to get it all over the place when he drinks hot chocolate. Luke wanted to listen to Michael tell the same stories he thought were hilarious over and over again. Luke just wanted Michael here, but he had to wait.
Waiting was the worst part.
Luke didn't know how people could go without seeing their spouse for long periods of time. He goes months at a time and each time it hits him harder and he simply feels worse. Even if Luke was there with Michael right now, he truly wouldn't be with him. There's a difference.
