~Alison's P.O.V.~

Well it's about halfway through my shift. Only got one call, and my hangover pretty much finished when we got back. I sat on the table and began to flip through a magazine

"Hey" Gabby said as she sat next to me

"Hey what's up?" I asked not looking up

"Did you really spend the night here by accident, while you were drunk?"

I looked up at her "Where did you hear that?"

"Kelly might have told me" She slightly chuckled

"I'm gonna kill him" I said mumbling

"So did you get drunk because of Jay?"

I sighed

"It's okay, you can tell me you know. I'm not gonna be like Kelly and run my mouth" She said

I nodded "Yea, plus I met his fiance last night" I sighed "God I feel like an idiot. To think that Jay could ever like someone like me"

"Hey, don't beat yourself up. And Jay's the idiot"

I chuckled "I feel like I'm in high school. Sad over a boy because someone else took him from me"

She laughed

"I will be fine. I promise" I said giving a hint of a smile

She nodded and smiled "Good"

"Hey candidate! Get over here. Do some drills" Hermann said at the door

"Duty calls" Gabby standing up and walking away

I continued flipping through the magazine until we heard the intercom go on

"Truck 81, Squad 3, and Ambulance 61. Fire at Firestone Bank"

We all stood up and headed to our trucks. Put our uniforms on and headed to the scene. We got down and looked at the bank. The fire must be inside. I looked up to see smoke coming from it looked like floor 2 or 3

"Alright let's go in" Casey said

We put our helmets on and followed out partners inside. Mills was mine. We went up the floors and spread out in the rooms looking for victims. We were able to get some out. I took out someone and noticed someone was inside. I went out then went back in. But I was by myself. I still went inside and to the second floor

"Fire Department call out!" I yelled hoping they would hear me

Just then I heard a groan coming from about 10 feet away from me. I went over and they were still conscious  but coughing like crazy. I tore a small piece from their shirt and put it against their mouth. I helped carry him out. He was beginning to lay all his weight on me

"Come on, don't give up buddy, we're almost out" I said as we kept going

"Alison get out of there the place is gonna blow any minute" Chief said through the radio

"I got one more victim Chief. I'm coming out" I said

I heard a loud hiss come from the back of my tank, then I realized it was out. I was breathing in the smoke. Then I began to cough like crazy. The fire was surrounding so much and much faster. I grabbed my radio "Chief.. chief" That was all I was able to get out

The smoke was only getting worse by the second. We were close to the doorway. But I couldn't make it. I was holding his with plus mine. And I could feel the smoke just surrounding my lungs already. I kept coughing and coughing. My vision was getting blurry. Until I saw someone running to me. They were in a firefighter suit. I couldn't see who it was but they got us out. Once I got out Brett grabbed the victim. I bent down to my knees and took off my mask. I inhaled the fresh air and coughed.

"You okay?" Otis asked me

I nodded through the coughs "I'm good"

Slowly I stopped coughing as much and they helped me up

"What happened?" Chief asked me

"My tank, it ran out" I said catching my breath

Herman checked the tank and Chief looked at him as Hermann nodded noting it was empty

"Let's get packed and get out of here" Chief Boden said before turning around and walked away

I panted a couple times more before standing up and getting the rest of the hear in the truck

"Hey, come on let me take a look at you" Brett said

I shook my head "I'm okay"

"Alison" She began

"Brett, really I'm okay" I smiled at her before getting into the truck

We arrived back at the firehouse and everyone put their stuff away. I walked into the kitchen. I walked straight to the locker room and sat on the chair. I ran my hands over my face

"Hey" A soft voice greeted

I sniffed and removed my hands from my face and looked up to see Mills

"Hey"

"You doing okay?" He asked as he sat next to me

"You know I wish everyone would stop asking me that" I stood up and walked away

"Hey Chief wants to see you in your office" Otis said as I walked in the hallway

I nodded and headed to Chief Boden's office. I knocked and stuck my head in "You wanted to see me"

He looked up at me "Yes come in, close the door and have a seat"

I walked in, closed the door and sat down. He didn't look too happy

"I need you to tell me exactly what happened at that fire from the bank"

I sighed "I went back in because I knew there was one more victim. Once I called out he groaned, I grabbed him and began to take him out. Then after I told you I was coming out I heard a loud hiss where my tank was at. After that I was breathing in the smoke. My tank was empty. It was overwhelming, the smoke. The flames. But chief I swear I checked my tank before we went out and it was full"

He paused and nodded

"Ask Kelly. He was there with me while I was checking it"

"Okay. That will be all"

I smacked my lips and nodded. I stood up and opened the door as I walked out and back to the equipment room. I checked my tank and realized how it was completely empty. I knew chief wasn't happy. And this can't be good.
