|48.| Colds- Isogai Yūma X Reader

You woke up from your bed feeling weird and hot. It was winter so it was odd that you were feeling hot. You dragged yourself out of your bedroom and went downstairs for breakfast. 

"Morning..." You yawned.

The smell of bacon and toast and hot choco filled the air and you happily sat down, ready for breakfast. Your mother smiled and put down your breakfast, "Good morning, (F/N). Sleep well?" She asked.

"Yup." You replied and stuffed a toast in your mouth, "It's pretty hot though for a winter day."

"Slept with too much blankets on?" She asked.

"Yeah. That must be why." You replied and took a sip of your hot choco.

"I have work and won't be back home until tomorrow, can you take care of yourself until then?" She asked and removed her apron revealing her work clothes.

"Sure. I can handle myself." You replied.

She approached you and pinched your cheeks, "That's a good (F/N)-chan~ You're still cute like how you've used to be. How come you don't have a boyfriend yet? Why not Isogai-kun, you seem to like him. " She asked and stopped pinching your cheeks.

Your face heated up and you rubbed your cheeks, "M-Mom!! I-I-I'm still young!!"

She chuckled and headed out to the door. You stuffed your breakfast in your mouth and rushed over to see her off. You handed over her scarf and her umbrella. After putting on her shoes, she caressed your right cheek, twitching her eyebrow a bit, "Well then, I'll be off."

She opened the door revealing snow and opened her umbrella, "Oh my. It's already snowing. (F/N), I might arrive later due to the snow, okay?"

You nodded, "Okay, take care!" 

As the door shut, you sighed and went back to the kitchen to clean up. You washed the dishes and wiped the tables and started feeling weirder and drowsy. You went to your bedroom and crawled under your blankets. 

'Maybe I'm just a little tired.' You thought and shut your eyes and drifted into sleep.

Upon waking up, you felt worse and hotter. You sat up and went back to your kitchen to fetch water. It was 5:39. Being too lazy to cook for dinner, you ordered pizza.

'Its just a mild cold I think... It'll get better after a good night's sleep.' You thought.

The doorbell rang and you got the pizza and paid the pizza guy. 

It was still snowing. You brought out your kotatsu and dragged it up to your room. You turned on the television and snuggled under your kotatsu and ate pizza. You tried to keep your eyelids from falling but you were too weak and tired to stop them and you eventually passed out.

You regained consciousness on your bed. There was a wet towel on your forehead too. You slowly sat up and the towel fell. You checked your phone. It was 2 in the afternoon the following day.

From: Mom

Subject: (none)

(F/N), it seems that I'll be arriving home later than expected. Take care. Love you.

Received: 10:43 pm

"What?" You mumbled and your head started to hurt before you could check who the other 4 were from. You held your head and massaged it. 

The door suddenly opened, "You shouldn't get up yet." A familiar voice called. 

"Hm?" You tilted your head to the side to see who it was. And there he stood with a tray that carried a glass of water and some medicine, Isogai Yuma. 

Your eyes widened in surprise and you felt your face heat up, "I-I-Isogai-kun? W-What are you doing here? H-How did you get in?"

"Ahh.. Sorry to startle you." He said and left the tray on top of the kotatsu, "You're mom contacted me and said that you weren't feeling well and that there was no one to take care of you. Since we're neighbors and all, I came over. As for how I got in, the keys were under the doormat."

He got the towel and let it soak in the cold water. He gave you your medicine and water and let you lie down. He squeezed the towel and put it back on your forehead and tidied things up.

"I checked your temperature earlier and it seems that you've got a fever, not a cold. But it went down a bit, so a good rest and a few more medicines will make you better." He gave you a thumbs up.

You snuggled under your blankets, "S-Sorry to cause you trouble."

He chuckled, "Don't worry about it. I'll be back in a bit." 

The door closed and your heart was still beating fast. You cursed and thanked your mom for this, not that you hated this. Isogai came back with a bowl of porridge. You sat up and took the bowl away from him and started eating. 

You were starving. The last thing you remember eating was pizza from last night. You gobbled down the porridge, not caring whether you burned your tongue. Isogai panicked and got your porridge bowl.

"No! You have to blow first." Isogai said.

He got the spoon and scooped up some porridge and started blowing. You freaked out and blushed madly, "W-W-What are you doing??"

"Blowing it for you." He said casually.

"I-I-I can do it by myself..." You said and grabbed the spoon and bowl from him and gulped down the bowl and choked. You coughed and put down the bowl and gave Isogai a thumbs up, "S-See. It was cold eno- ughhh. I-Im going to lie down...." 

A smiled crept his lips as you were tucking yourself in. He stood up and changed your towel and seems that you were already asleep. He took the bowl and left the room to clean things again. 

After a while, he came back up to stay with you so that he could check on you. You woke up at the sound of the door opening but didn't bother to move. 

"Hey Isogai-kun.." You called from under the blankets.

He sat down beside your bed and brought out a small pocket book, "What is it?"

"T-Thanks."

He smiled once more and answered you before you drifted to sleep once more, "Don't mention it."

I like rushed this whole flooding thing since last night. Christmas break started last Friday which was on the 18th which was the last day of exams. Aaaaand I haven't touched my keyboard since I went on hiatus so I kinda rushed on the one shots. But fret not!! XDD I have more one shots ahead of this!! *^* 

The formatting might be changed because I'm writing on my laptop and I used to write on my phone. Which means I am limited to emojis and other stuffs. ;-;)

I'll publish the rest later 'cause I'm going out. :)
