The first time she saw him, it was in a park. He was on a bench, strumming a guitar, singing under the late afternoon sunlight. The wind carried his song to her ears, she thought it was beautiful.

But she didn't go up to say so. She just stood there, leaning against a tree, watching the back of the brown-haired boy. She couldn't see his face or the colour of his eyes, or the way his left dimple popped out when he smiled, but it was okay. He couldn't see her, but it was okay.

He got up and left. With a light and seemingly floating heart, she too, left, smiling.

She really hoped that he would come again tomorrow.

It was spring.
