A few hours later after homework, Emily texted him and asked what he wanted. A bit tired and weary, she went to her room and lied on her bed, only to jump up at his next text, saying "I wanna be in the Marines." She never thought Max would wanna do that, considering he fails at most sports, and hide and seek when they were in elementary school. This was their last year of high school, so he could start training next year if he wanted to, and Emily decided to talk with him.
Max sent the text and continued playing with his baby sister Marina, until he heard a knock on the door. He answered it to find Emily out of breath and asking to come inside. His mom wasn't home and wouldn't be home until 12:00 that night, so he let her in.
