It's been almost a week since I came home and today is my sixth day looking for a job, Scarlett and Clint got a job less than five days, lucky them for getting recommendation letter from their Internship, but I'm happy for them and I hope today is my lucky day. Because Scarlett started working as a junior associate, I always wake up alone because she leave early morning. I went to the kitchen get some cereal and back to my room check out my laptop and surfing the internet tryna find a job, but still got nothing. I even applied for a new strat-up company but no. I need a break, maybe I should go out and do something refreshing.
I went to starbucks to get my favorite Ice Hazelnut Latte and sat at the corner of the cafe with my laptop. While looking on the internet, I found something that make today is really a good day. There's this one of the great company in New York, base on the rank in Wall Street Journal, The CEO need a new secretary, without thinking twice I send my application to their email hoping they will read it and call me for an interview.
"Let's get back to home babies," I said to myself gather my stuff and leave that place with my favorite drink
When I get home I feel so excited and nervous at the same time, because after many application I had sent on different kind positions, looks like none of them interested with fresh-graduate or they just dont have any vacancy in their company. I lay down on my bed watching some Netflix series, till I feel my eyes become heavy so I just take a nap.
It's around 4 PM and someone is calling me, without look at the caller ID I just answer it
"Hey sis, how's life?" Dion's voice suddenly appeared before I say hello
"Do you always talk like that? Everything is fine here," I said
Even though we already in same town but Dion always call me because we are living separately now, most time he called just because he's bored or mom ask him to call me.
"Found any job or something? You can work with me as water girl on upcoming game if you haven't found one hehe," He said he think its funny
He's a manager in one of the soccer team in here so that's why he asked Clint if he likes sport before, but he actually like any kind of sports, he even good at basketball but i don't know why he chose soccer now.
"Nah, you dont have to. I already apply in other place today, so I'll call you later okay, I'm tired," I said
"You're not tired, I know. You doing nothing all day, but okay. If you wanna join me to watch the Spain GP later, call me, bye" Dion said while laughing and ended the call
Yes we like to watch F1 Grand Prix, because I like racing but now I'm going back to sleep.
I heard my phone ringing again, and this time I look at the caller ID if its Dion again I wont answer it, but It turns out some unknow number appeared on my screen, more like an office phone. I answer the call but not say anything at first
"Hello is this Alexandra Johnson?" the man behind phone said sound so deep
"Yes, this is her, Can I help you?" I said carefuly
"I'm from Downey Corp calling to say that we just received an application under your name," he paused
"Uh yes?" I asked impatient but still careful
"We accept you as the new secretary for the CEO, and you'll start tomorrow at DC tower 8am, any question?" he said quickly
Start working directly? No interview? The accept me just with the application? Wow, Just wow, I'm confused
"Wow, but I thought I still need to be interview and a training?" I asked
"We already found what we need, so if you accept this you can come tomorrow at DC tower 8am," The man said again
"I'm so glad to be accepted in the company, Thank you ver-," The call ended before i finished my words
I stare at my phone screen with a wide smile, I text my parents, even Dion to tell them i finally got a job. I'm so happy
"Alex I'm home,"
Just in time, I rushed out from my room when I heard Scarlett's voice
"I GOT A JOB!" I yelled with so much excitement
"OH MY GOD, THATS GREAT, I'M HAPPY FOR YOU." She jumped and hug me tightly
Well that's how me and Scarlett acted when we have good news for each other. I asked her to go with me find some clothes for my new job tomorrow.
