Chapter One~ Meeting the Maruaders       

           Being alone was a typical characteristic of Brayelynn Rae Ross. She only had one close friend that she saw over the summer and her family had disowned her the moment she found out about her special abilities. The moment they found out she was different, a freak. She was a witch.

When Brayelynn was a young girl, things happened around her that no one could explain. After being forced by her step- mother to cut off her waist length hair, her family was astounded to see her brown locks back down to her waist the next morning; this time including bright purple streaks. This was one of the many abnormal occurrences that happened around the Ross family.

The only person who didn’t seem shocked at the abnormal happenings around Brayelynn was her father. When he was twenty, he backpacked across France and met a young woman named Yvonne Lavigne who later told him that she was a witch. They were married and nine months later they were proud parents to Brayelynn. Yvonne left the Ross family when Brayelynn turned four, hoping that her child could have a normal life in America.

On her eleventh birthday, Brayelynn received a letter from Beauxbatons School of Magic in France, a letter from her mother, and an explanation from her father. Soon after, she left to begin her new life with her mother in France.

Yvonne Ross lived in the rush and wonders of Muggle Paris. She kept a small flat above an art studio that she managed for soon-to-be-discovered Muggle artists. This is where Brayelynn met Joelle Pierce, a twelve-year-old Picasso in the making. The girls quickly became friends in the summers that Brayelynn was home from her schooling at Beauxbatons. They were inseparable until Brayelynn’s mother was killed in a fight in Muggle London that involved Death Eaters. It was then that she received her letter to continue her seventh year of study abroad, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

And so we begin the newest chapter of seventeen-year-old Brayelynn’s life. Traveling aboard the Hogwarts Express, in a compartment alone, silently shedding the tears for her mother and the loss of the only friend she ever had.

Hey all!! This is my first fan fiction and I'm really hoping to get some good reviews. I'll post whenever I can, but this is the first part of chapter one!!! Most of my chapters will have multiple parts so ill always post at the top what chapter I'm working on and of course ALL CREDIT BELONGS TO J.K. ROWLING!! Haha I loved the series so much I just had to write my own version of events :)
