To make things a little clearer about this "Unseen Scene", is that Aria and Legolas are much younger as you will understand while reading it.

And as I put Aria into the story, she was the one that taught Legolas (her brother) everything from shooting with bow and arrow, to sword fighting.

They were really close sibling and they loved each other very much <3

Hope you'll like it xx :)

“You are aiming too low, silly!” Aria smacked Legolas hand up that was holding the bow and he went up with it a few inches, only to stretch the string to far back and the arrow went yards out into the forest. Little Legolas gave his sister an apologetic look before Aria moaned and groaned, running off into the arrow’s direction to go and fetch it.

Every single morning, eleven-year old Legolas would constantly wake his older sister up when the sun was starting to rise, wanting her to teach him how to shoot. That had been his only passion since he was introduced to the bow in the first place.

Aria would obediently obey their father and help Legolas, although one day he would be fighting great battles and Aria wouldn’t. Though, learning to fight at all was essential, and Thranduil had taught her how to handle a bow, sword, daggers and club ever since she was a little Elf just like Legolas.

Aria had drawn a big ring with a dot in the middle on one of the thick tree trunks for Legolas to aim at. He hadn’t hit it so far.

Aria ripped the arrow from the ground where it had landed from her brother’s bad shot and she hurried back to the shooting-spot.

“Okay, let us try it again”, said Aria while she put the arrow back into the quiver. “Legolas?”

Legolas had his back turned against Aria, fiddling with something in one of the bushed at one side of another tree. “What are you doing?”

The little Elven-boy turned around, his big blue eyes shining and sparkling brighter than any diamond out of excitement as he could barely stand still.

“Look what I found, look what I found, look what I found!” Legolas squealed, turning his faze down towards his connected palms that laid straight out in front of him.

There indeed laid a little creature; quite big, with thick rough skin, big eyes and sticky feet - a toad.

Aria smiled towards it, giggling when she noticed little Legolas jumping up and down out of excitement. “I found it lurking in the plants! Can I keep it? Please, please, please?” Legolas almost shouted out, patting the toad’s rough skin with his fingertips. His face was almost impossible to say no to. But eventually Aria bit the inside of her bottom lip and shook her head.

“You can’t.”

“Why?” Legolas’ eyes were starting to fill up with tears.

“Because father was never for pets”, Aria explained, taking the toads out of her brother’s hands.

“He has got a deer!”

“That’s not quite the same, Legolas.”

“Yes it is!”

“Shoot it, or leave it.”

Legolas took the toad back again and dropped it into the bush. He turned back disappointed and sad as he walked back to his bow and arrows and made one ready to shoot. His face was totally focused with the bow in his hands but he never released the arrow.

Aria walked up to him, kneeling so that they were about the same height.

“I’m sorry”, she said. No answer. “There are toads out here you can play with whenever you want.”

Legolas remained silent. Until Aria sighed, taking the bow out of her brother’s hands and started tickling him, wrestling him down into the plants below them.

Legolas laughed hysterically and tried to twist himself out of Aria’s hold on him, but it was impossible.

“Okay, okay! I forgive you!” Legolas giggled and Aria released him with a big grin on her face.

“Good. Now, pick up that bow and aim. I want to see your mistakes this time.”

Legolas did as he was told and aimed the bow and arrow towards the rounded circle on the tree. Aria observed him carefully, before pushing a little on his chest and he raised it up higher. She kicked on one inside of one of his feet and he spread his legs further apart. She drew a straight line from his armpit to the end of his hand with her finger in the air, and with that, he straightened out the arm. “Both eyes open”, she told him and Legolas opened up his right eye to gaze on the tree. “Do you really want to hit the ring?”

“Yes”

“Are you certain? Because if you think about anything else I will have to run after the arrow again.”

Legolas sighed. “You have got the toad.”

Legolas frowned and turned his head towards Aria.

“What?” he was confused. Aria was running back towards the bush and picked up the toad, holding it out in front of herself so that Legolas could see it clearly.

“This toad is yours if you can hit that target”, Aria nodded towards the tree. “That shall be the main thing you’ll be thinking about.”

She watched as her little brother considered it, and later turned his concentration back to the tree.

With both of his eyes open and peeled on the target, his body tense, he released the arrow and it shot straight into the dot in the middle of the big circle drawn on the tree.

There were cheering, yelling, laughter and dancing all around the forest. Legolas and Aria practised the same thing every day, and it was always the same thought about the toad that struck his mind.

“You’re going to be a marvellous shot, Legolas. I promise”, Aria said, embracing her little brother tightly in her arms.
