A guard, slim-built and tall, wearing the standard uniforms of the Fire Nation soldiers barked. Meanwhile, fire spread across the Fire Nation's citizens homes, fiercely licking the roofs, and viciously burning it to the ground.It was ironic. The comet that was suppose to give them the power which would be equivalent to a thousand suns to win this war, had backfired and become their worst enemy. The flames that enveloped the Sozin's comet could not be bended. They had miscalculated, and had forgotten about the legend of the Alien Fire Invasion."Protect Princess Azula and Prince Zuko at the costs of your life!" The guard from before barked. His colleagues that were inferior to him in job status, saluted and shouted in order to show their pledged loyalty for the Royal Family, before they scattered off to tend to their given duties.Pity. It was a pity because those assigned to protect Prince Zuko will have to serve their heads if they made it out alive from this tragic, devious fire.The Firelord's mansion that stood tall and proud, showing the Fire Nation's emblem just a few hours ago, was now nothing but rubble and dirt. Although the mansion was burnt to ashes, the flames that burnt it, continued to burn brightly emitting smoke. The smoke flew towards the obsidian sky which was black as the hope left in the citizens of the Fire Nation, representing the efforts that they now made to survive. Some parts of the smoke were enveloped in flames, which meant that when they flew towards the dark sky, it ignited the sky with its orange heat. While this occurred, some rubble was shot up in the sky along with flames. And from beneath the rubble, two formed emerged from the ground.Zuko grunted as he climbed his way through the dirt. The minute he dug his way out of the crumbled mansion and onto solid ground, he took a deep breath in, trying to catch his breath once again. He laid the female he carried on his back gently on the ground, before he collapsed on the ground beside her. The raven-haired male breathed heavily, as he tried to inhale the oxygen around him. But that was difficult because he inhaled more smoke into his lungs, than he inhaled oxygen. Moments later, the female beside him woke up coughing heavily. This caused his eyes to widen as he tried to sit up to help her. But he was unable to because he, himself began to have a coughing fit."Z-Zuko," The female beside him stuttered, as she coughed slightly."I-I'm here," The Fire Nation Prince stuttered. He tried to sit by pushing himself up from the ground, but his efforts were fruitless."We're not going to make it, are we?" The female stuttered, her voice breaking in the end."No, we will! Don't you dare give up," He barked with a rough voice, before he began to cough once more."We won't with me holding you back," The female whispered, turning her head towards her lover, who was breathing heavily. A tear slipped from eye as she began to sniffle."I-I wish I could touch you," She muttered, trying to reach out to him."In my last moments, I wish I could at least hug you goodbye," She murmured, letting out a sob. The raven-haired male's eyes widened as a single tear rolled down his eye, his eyebrows furrowing."Shut up! You're not going to die!" He yelled at her in frustration. He could feel his heart clench in his chest because no matter how much he denied it from the outside, he knew deep within his heart that she would not survive due to her disability."I'm going to get us out of here," Zuko hissed as he tried to stand up. However, it only resulted with another coughing fit attacking him, and him collapsing on the ground as he breathed heavily once again."Don't deny it Zuko.." The female whispered, as more tears rolled down her cheeks. "There is no way I can survive this, especially because I cannot bend this fire. Without my bending, I am nothing," She said, her voice barely audible.Her response only caused the raven-haired male more sorrow, because the anger he felt before, had now changed into sadness."I don't want you to die," He confessed, looking at her with tear-filled amber eyes."I don't want to either," The girl began, smiling sadly at him. "But we all know that death is inevitable. It will come to us at one point, and we cannot avoid it. However, it seems as if it has come to me earlier than any of us anticipated," She whispered, before she began to cough once again. Saliva ran from the corner of her lips, which Zuko wiped away."My only regret is that... I never got to hold you," She said, her voice breaking in the end. Then, she broke into tears, sobbing uncontrollably. Zuko watched her with helpless eyes as she continuously cried. Her broken sight made his chest feel heavy, and caused him to become more upset. She, the love of his life, who was there for him in thick and thin, who supported him in his worst times, and loved him no matter what, without asking anything in exchange. She, who had given him everything, and received nothing from him in return, who never wanted anything from him expect his love, and to be able to hold him in her arms.To be able to hold him in her arms...That is all she wanted.A simple action to show him her love.Zuko lowered his gaze as his sadness overwhelmed him by each passing second. He glanced at her face which was slowly losing its colour, indicating her time will be over soon.Zuko knew what he had to do."Embrace me," He said strongly.His words caused the female to gasp and look at him in surprise."W-What?" She inquired in surprise."Embrace me," Zuko said, smiling at her."B-But if I do then you-""I don't care," He said interrupting her. "I don't care if you will end up burning me with your arms that are made from the fire within you. I want you to embrace me with your fire arms because that will only make our first hug more special," He began, brushing her hair away from her forehead as more tears fell down her cheeks, and she looked at him with watery eyes."I know your embrace will burn me and be the end of me. But the end is already here... Don't you see?" Zuko said, motioning towards the buildings that collapsed around them. The girl simply let out another sob."The end is already here. No one is going to survive this. So instead of mourning over our fate, let's accept it, okay? Stop crying, and hug me. Embrace me and show me your love. Burn me to the ashes with you, so we can be reborn and raised from the ashes of our love, and be reunited in our next lives," Zuko whispered, smiling at her.The female let out a small whimper, before her frown turned into a smile. "Okay," She whispered, leaning her forehead against Zuko's. Then, flames shot out of her shirt's sleeve, and formed arms of fire. With those arms, she embraced the love of her life, and burnt him and herself to ashes.She was finally able to give him one last embrace, before they parted ways."I will see you in my next life," They whispered to each other, as they connect their lips
