the deed

It is not fair to say

that you're the only one

who commited the deed

the only one that broke my heart,

robbed me of my innocence

and ruined my admiration of romance.

It was but I

who offered myself as an unwanted sacrafice

to our dead love, the one who handed you the sword

and walked head first into the blade.

It is not fair to say

that you're the only one

who commited the deed

and banished me of your love,

shattered my mind into pieces

and destroyed what little hope I had

because I tore my heart out

and placed it at the very tip

of your deadly fingers.

I am the one

who placed my love at your feet

but I cannot blame you,

for you have stepped on something

you could not see.
