Chapter 20

Annibell's P.O.V.

"Why are we here?"  Evangeline asked with her arms crossed.

"You two are a part of me, but all of us will be non-existant if the light consumes us."  I stated.  I know they could see what was happening.  A small orb flew inbetween us showing us what was happening, as if you were another person looking down on the scene.  My body was on the ground completely unharmed.  Luckily the light protected my body, but that wouldn't last.  I peeled my eyes off the screen to look at the two.

"You're gorgeous."  Ezibel muttered.  I shook my head no.

"Only with the light I am.  When I am split and become you two, the light is split, but when you two touch you can use the full power of the light.  Evangeline that is why you were able to make that one creature into a flower after you killed it, you had touched Ezibel just before."  I looked back at the orb seeing the very few survivors that were left come around my body.  The children outnumbered the adults now.

"How did we become you then?"  Ezibel asked playing with her fingers.  Evangeline and Ezibel possessed things that I didn't and never would.  Secretly I envied them for the differences that they had.

"Your feelings for the two boys were more than you could handle alone, so you were brought together.  Loosing something like that, your body would shut down.  I know this is hard to hear after you've seen what I possess, but I need your help."  Both of their eyebrows rose.

"Why?"  Evangeline asked looking at the orb.  I looked at it to see my body being placed gently down on the bed.

"I said before I can only kill myself, and that is by living.  When you two are living the power is split, but when I am living there is to much power in one being.  Without me there is no you two.  You need me.  You need to come out and make me dormant so we don't die."  I explained.  "Do you understand?"  They both nodded.

"So how are we going to do this?"  Evangeline asked looking around.

Evangeline's P.O.V

I looked around the room wondering if there was any way out.  If there was anyway to split Annibell's body like the first time.

"Anybody have any idea where we are?"  I asked not seeing anything.

"The mind we all share.  It's not really any of ours, just a mind."  Annibel explained as if that made sense.

"Do you know how we go back?"  I asked looking at the orb.  People were around Annibell all touching her, colored light flowed from their fingertips, but it wasn't doing anything.  They were trying to cure her, us, but nothing was working.  You could see it in their faces.  They all headed out of the room their heads hung low.

"Try walking through the orb."  Annibell suggested.  Ezibel grabbed my hand tightly.  "I'm sure you guys can do it, and I hope not to see you guys again soon."  She paused.  "If you ever here a voice in your head it's me."  I nodded with a slight smile as Ezibel and I stepped through the orb.

We were in the room where Annibell was laying, but our bodies were barely visible.  We weren't really there.  Ezibel and I moved over to the bed sitting down on the same side.  I grabbed her hand tightly.

I didn't know what to think.  I was completely lost.

"Do you think mom and dad are.."  Ezibel started but choked at her words.  At least Ezibel was thinking of something.

"If they were alive they'd be here."  I said stating the obvious.  "They died fighting for a good cause."  I said nodding my head.  I guess I was glad that I hadn't known them for half of my life.  I didn't have much memories from when I was younger, only a few, and they weren't big impacts on my life.

I looked over my shoulder at Annibell's body.  Her breathing was ragged and she was growing more pale by the minute.  She had about a day left in her.

"If we die and there's nobody to make us flowers so we can be reborn, what do you think will happen to us?"  Ezibel asked playing with her fingers tears building up in her eyes.

"You need to stop thinking about the future and think about the now.  I'll make a promise with you. If we make it through all of this we're going to make all the bodies that fought in the war into a huge garden.  So they can all be reborn."  I thought about Colton's body.  He would be in that garden.  I would never see his gold speckled green eyes.  The way he stared at me with his hard, calm gaze.  He was always there for me, standing infront of me, his sword ready.  I would never see that smile that was so rare again.  The smile that he showed me when we danced together under the moonlight.

I gripped the bed tightly knowing there was nothing I could do to help.  Out of all the powers I possessed, giving life back isn't one of them.

"I hate this."  Ezibel and I screamed at the same time.  We looked at each other, tears streaming down both of our faces.  We laughed slightly trying to calm our breathing.

"Evangeline!"

"Ezibel!"  I looked up to see Colton and Hanley yelling mine and my sister's name as they burst into the room.  They were bloody and pale, but fully alive.
