***HEYYY! What's going on? Oh, me? Nothin' much, really... Just here to... UPLOAD THE NEXT CHAPTER OF "THE NEW GIRL!" You know what, though? This is the second to last part. After this one, there'll be one more chapter and then the book is overr! Isn't that super sad? It is for mee. I mean, I worked really hard on this story and it's been amazing to get so much support and praise for it. And I have to thank each and every one of you for that :)

One more thing. I've changed the cast a bit. I changed the actress for Jordin from Bonnie Wright to Lily Collins (----> You can see a picture of her on the side! ------>) I think she looks more like Jordin. I also added the actress for Janice (Jordin's Mom) as Maria Cannals-Barrera. I know she's Mexican and Janice isn't...but eh, I couldn't think of anyone else. Please help me if you can! Logan Lerman is still Scott, but I put Alex Pettyfer as Aidan (Ollie's brother). Tell me if you've found someone else. :)

Ah, I'll stop rambling now and just put up the chapter. For this one, I'd like all of you to vote, comment, and fan. There's a huge cliffhanger at the end of this part and if you want to read what happens at the end...make sure to votee, commentt, and fann! :)

Love you all!

Chapter Twenty-Five

(Jordin’s POV)

“I can’t believe you’re leaving,” Mom comments, dabbing at her eyes with a lace handkerchief.

“I know, Mom,” I answer tiredly. “I’ll be back for Thanksgiving—the time will fly by, trust me. And I’ll make sure to call you every single day.  Cassandra and I will both come visit every once in a while.”

Cassandra, or Cassie, is my cousin. She’s going to pick me up at the airport and drive me to her apartment. I’ll be living with her for a month before school starts because I won’t get checked into my dorm until then.

“But, baby, you’re going all the way to the other side of the country!” She wails, a waterfall of tears cascading over her cheeks.

I scoot closer to my mom on the couch, placing a comforting arm around her shoulder. I squeeze her shoulder lightly, trying to provide a bit of support. This is all so backward. I’m soothing my mother when I’m the one leaving home.

I can understand, though. Well, there’s not much guesswork to it when Mom reminds me why she’s so upset a hundred times a day. I’m her only child, her baby girl. She’s seen me as a little kid and now she’s watching me ‘leave the nest’ and go off to start my life. It hits her hard because I came to live with her again after being away from her for four years and it’s already time for me to leave her once again.

“Come on, Mom,” I urge. “It’ll be okay, I promise. The time will go by so fast, you won’t even know it. I’ll be back for vacation in just a matter of time.”

“Jordin, honey, when did you become so mature?” She asks, grinning sheepishly. “It’s like I’m the child and you’re the parent. And I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Soon enough you’ll be out of college and starting your career as a famous dancer. I am so proud of you, sweetheart. You’ve done such a great job—as both a daughter and a student. And there are so many wonderful—”

Mom’s lecture is cut short by a knock on the door. I jump up, glad to have an excuse to escape from this sappy conversation, and scurry to the front door. I throw it open and smile, relieved, when I see Ollie standing there.

Ollie is dropping me at the airport because my mother can’t stand to see me actually walk away from her. So she employed Ollie to do the job for her.
