"Xy?"

I am heartless. I do what must be done.

"Hm?"

"Do you still remember when we first met?"

"Yeah. It was 8 years ago at the clans' peace conference. You looked so aloof back then," I teased him.

As the Daughter of Ice, I must control my emotions unlike our Grandmother, the Ocean.

"Because you weren't there by my side. You're the only one who caught my attention." I blushed at what he said.

"Then why didn't you talk to me?" I asked him.

Despite my frozen heart, I have known love. My family showed me love even if the Children of Ice must only live for themselves. My mother, the Empress, has received kindness from the Emperor long ago, when she was shivering from the cold. A new bloodline was taken in, they broke tradition.

"I was afraid you'd reject or ignore me." He caressed my face lovingly. "Your eyes were so cold and emotionless. They called you the Diamond Princess because they thought your heart is made of ice and hard as diamond."

I punched him playfully. "Then why do I feel like this?"

We represented change. A broken tradition.

"Because," he said looking at me in the eye, "I melted the ice and marked your heart mine. I have waited 8 years for this." He inched his face closer to mine. Getting closer. Closer. And closer that I could feel his breath. My heart is beating so fast and I closed my eyes awaiting him to kiss me.

I will break it once again. It is my destiny, it is my blood - one of the strongest blood of the Ocean, the Sky, and the Earth.

"SIS!!!" We instantly broke apart at the sound of my brother's voice. Why the hell must Erik have to ruin the moment?

"What?!" I said as if nothing happened, or was about to happen.

"Brother said we're going home early today," said Erik.

I looked at him one last time before I said goodbye. "See you tomorrow." I told him.

"Goodbye, Xyrene. And take care," he said to me. And I thought I heard him say softly, 'I love you...'

Who would have thought that the Fire that always clashed with Ice - the Fire I once wanted but always despised - would thaw the heart I have long buried in ice?
