Picture of Zander.

Zander's POV

It had been a week since I had seen her, she hadn't left my mind. I sighed as I laid down the pen I had been fiddling with the entire time. I couldn't focus on the paperwork in front of me.

I didn't understand why I had felt the need to go back there, it sure as hell wasn't for their bland-tasting coffee. I leaned back in my chair, staring up at the ceiling. The fascination I felt for her was alien. She intrigued me and I didn't understand why.

"Zander?" Belle's voice chimed as she not-so-quietly entered my apartment. I got up and walked into the living room where I knew she would be waiting. Everyone knew not to come further than that without permission. Even family.

I like my privacy and therefor had upstanding rules to withhold it. I enjoyed my space, with no one snooping around my belongings.

"Did you get it?" I asked as I poured myself a glass of scotch, Belle snorted.
"Hello to you too, brother" I rolled my eyes and downed the glass in seconds. "Whatever, do you have it?" I nudged, not bothered with formalities.

"What's in here that's so important to you." Belle fished, waving the file in her hands.

"Just hand over the file, Belle." I didn't know the woman, I just needed a name to put to her face.

"Why do you want to know so badly? Who is she to you?" Belle continued.

I had pestered her into getting legal information on the mystery that hadn't been able to flee my thoughts. It had been a long time since she had seen me showing this much interest towards something. I should have known she would ask questions.

"If I need a therapy session I'll call you," I snapped back sarcastically. She rolled her eyes.

"You're being childish" I raised an eyebrow at the accusation.

"Just give it to me" she ignored me, eyeing me up and down as if she noticed something off about me. A silence roamed around us.

"You've been training." She randomly noted when she realized I wasn't planning on giving her a proper answer either.

I sighed in annoyance as I realized what she's trying to do. Being my sister, she's the only one that's ever been able to figure me out. I was never one to share my emotions, if I have any to begin with. Belle tends to see right through that iron veil.

"I'm a guy, I work out, what's the big deal" I groaned. She was reading into nothing this time.

"You know that's not what I meant." She stepped closer, taking in my appearance once again. I glared at her, she was starting to play with fire and she knew it.

She shook her head showing her disapproval, she dropped her handbag next to the couch and walked passed me into the kitchen. I rolled my head over my shoulders and held back a long sigh of despair. Here we go again.

"I know you Zander," she started to preach as I followed her into the kitchen. "This has happened before, something gets on your mind, something you don't know how to deal with and you become distant" her arms passionately fluttered around her as she spoke.

I simply crossed my arms and leaned against the counter, waiting for her to stop her rant. This was completely off subject, I just wanted the file, how did we come to this argument.

She turned around and caught my jaded expression. Her eyes squinted into small slits as she closed in on me, jabbing her finger into my chest as she spoke.

"Don't look at me like I'm crazy. Last time you started working out like this I didn't see you for 4 months!" Her anger slowly diminished as silent seconds passed by.
