Zander's POV

"Someone's here boss." Matthew announced, his eyes lingered at something behind me. I couldn't help the smirk forming on my face. So she had decided to show up after all. Smart move.

I had known someone was outside, I could feel her eyes burning holes on my back, but I had wanted to wait for her to make a move. I mumbled something to Bjorn in Italian, knowing she probably wouldn't be able to understand.

"Resta con Stacey , assicurati che lei non lascia la stanza." I commanded, he gave me a curt nod before leaving the room to scurry off to Stacey's room.

(Translation: Stay with Stacey, make sure she doesn't leave the room)

After that I considered my next move, I would have to outsmart her. Not that that would be so hard to do, I was in my element. This was child's play for me and she was oblivious to the fact that I already knew she was there, to the point that I was even expecting her.

"Get the guards, search the property." With that I waved Matthew off, he grabbed his gun and flashlight and shouted the orders around the house. I shot another glace towards the window with a smirk before leaving as well.

I saw 4 people running around, leaving the house to search the property for an intruder. If only they knew they were just helping me lure her into my arms. She was easy to predict, while my men close in on her she'll probably try escape through the window and find her friend. It was a pretty blunt move but I admired her courage none the less. For such a petite girl she sure did have some spite in her to have the guts to show up here.

I rounded the corner, reaching for my gun but laughed at the idea of pointing it in her direction. As if I'd need it.

I waited silently, focusing my ears on any sound coming from my office and it didn't take long before I was rewarded with a small grunt. I wanted to peak around the corner to see what in hell she had done to cause such a crash but I stayed still.

I stood there for a couple of minutes, ignoring the feedback of the search through my Bluetooth earbud. I could hear her approach the door in hesitation. I wanted to grunt in annoyance, this was taking way too long to my liking.

I stopped when I heard her uneven breath and it was only than that I noticed I was holding my own as well, waiting in anticipation. But why? Why was I anxious?

I shrugged it off, my fingers tingling, waiting for her to step through the door right into the devils grasp. A soft whisper startled me.

"Geronimo." I heard her mumble before whipping around the corner pointing a gun right at my face. I held back a laugh, finding it cute how she had to muster up all her courage, not even knowing someone would be waiting for her to make that move.

Her eyes held surprise and shock, her hands were trembling and her body slumped back into a self-protective stance. It only took me a couple of seconds to close the short distance between our bodies, spin her around and twist the gun out of her grasp.

A small gasp left her lips, startled by my swift movement as the gun that had been pointed at my face only moments ago, was now pressed against her temple.

I pulled her immensely close to my chest, enjoying how her curves felt against my body. I leaned down, she was so small, my breath tickling her cheek as I whispered lowly in her ear.

"And so we meet again, la mia amata."

(Translation: my beloved)

Eleanor's POV

I struggled in the man's grasp, my breath coming out in short gasps as the world didn't stop spinning. Everything had gone so fast and I couldn't even process whatever that had just happened.
