I am a big fan of Downton Abbey, and I once wondered about whether Mary was Matthew's first love or not. A story entered my head about a forbidden love, the reason why Matthew was so reluctant to move to Downton.
I am really, really, really sorry if this book ruins your thoughts on Matthew, but this is my thoughts and I'm proud to share them with you.
I will also apologise now for my writing style, (it most certainly could be better!) but I hope I get my idea across to you. The grammar is also, probably, atrocious, but please don't let that put you off.
