So Lucie turned her back on England and set her sights on America instead. She married Robert Singleton and offered him a son and two daughters early on in their marriage, before saying enough was enough.
She and Rebecca truly became great friends, and it was because of Rebecca's love and friendship that apart from two incidents Lucie remained faithful to her husband. She no longer had a need for the love provided by her men, she knew she was loved by the Singleton family. And over the years Lucie developed a tender love for Robert, finally offering him, with no reluctance, a second son, and a third daughter.
Lucie finally returned to England 48 years after she left, when the world was a very different place.
