Adren's P.O.V
It was time. I'm going to become a BLI Agent.
Everyone's in 2 cars. We finally got another one. Mikey, Me, Kaylina, Frank and Grace are in one. While Ray, Liz, Holly and Party are in the other one. We painted the new muscle car the same as the original. Which was really fun, I might add.
We're all going down to a Killjoy Hospital. Dr. D is there waiting for us. As we pull up to the parking lot, Mikey gives me a nervous look. I hold his hand and squeeze it. We get out of the car and go into the hospital.
Doctors are everywhere. They're dressed like real doctors. But they work for us, Killjoys. I find that surprising. I spot Dr. D waiting for us in the middle of the area by a receptionist's desk. I wave to him and take Mikey's hand.
Mikey looks down at me and kisses my forehead. I feel Holly take my other hand and squeeze it. I look at my best friend, a person I've gotten close to lately. Next to her is Grace, and next to Mikey is Kaylina. I look behind me to see Liz, Ray, Party, and Frank smiling at us. I smile back and walk forward.
"Are you ready, Adren?" Dr. D asks me.
"Yeah. I am." I sigh and look around.
"Let's go get this done." A doctor with tan skin and black hair comes up to us. Her hair is originally mid-back length but It's pulled into a ponytail. She gives us a warm smile and leads us to a room which has everything ready.
A sedative sits on the counter with the clear liquid inside it. I breathe in the chemicals, regretting it because the smell is awful. Party rubs my arm and kisses my cheek. Mikey hides his jealousy with a smile.
"Are you going to be okay?" Mikey asks.
"Um, yeah." I respond taking his hand and sitting down on the edge of a bed.
"I'm sorry to say, everyone. But 4 of you need to leave. It's too much people to have in one room. It's the rules, I'm sorry." The doctor says.
"Me, Frank, Grace and Liz will leave." Ray says.
"Are you sure?" I look at them.
"Yeah. We'll see you after! It's not like you're dying." Frank says.
"Yeah..." I look down.
The four of them leave. So now it's me, Mikey, Party, Holly, and Kaylina.
"I'm Dr. Martinez. I'll be doing your injection." She says.
"Okay." Kaylina walks to me and sits down.
Dr. Martinez comes over to me with the sedative and sets it on a metal tray. She picks up a wet wipe and wipes a part on my arm where the Drac tried to put the real chemical in me. It's a scar now.
"Don't worry Adren. We're here." Holly says reasurringly.
"Thank you." I croak.
Dr. Martinez picks up the needle. I close my eyes and hold Mikey and Kaylina's hands harder.
"This might hurt." She says.
I feel the needle enter my skin. I scream from the horrible pain. It's not like a regular shot.
Party's P.O.V
I cringe from Adren's screaming. She looks like she's in so much pain. A tear escapes my eye as the needle stays in her arm, liquid slowly getting injected. Holly sniffles beside me. I look at her and kiss the top of her head.
Her scream turns into heavy breathing. She barely has any scream left in her. The needle's been in her for 5 minutes. I look at Mikey and he's crying. He hates seeing her in pain. And Kaylina's trying not to cry, but she gives in and sobs loudly.
Finally all the liquid is injected, and Dr. Martinez pulls out the needle. Adren breathes faster, her body is shaking. She looks around and her eyes fall on me. She gets up and wipes tears away from my eyes. She gives me a weak smile and turns to Mikey who's still crying.
Mikey's P.O.V
Adren walks to me and kisses away the tears on my face. She puts her hands on either side of my face and kisses me softly. 6 solid minutes of screaming, crying, pain. All for one thing. To find out about the BLI.
"Are you okay?" I croak.
"I'm great. I feel a lot stronger." She says surprisingly.
"That's good. No more pain, right?"
She shakes her head. "Not anymore Mikey."
I smile at her and kiss her. Kaylina clears her throat and Adren turns and looks at her.
"Thank you." Adren says.
"For what?" Kaylina looks at her.
"For being here."
Kaylina smile and hugs her sister.
"Well, it's time to say goodbye." Adren says while frowning.
I take her hand and we walk outside of the room. Liz is sitting next to Ray, tears rolling down on both of their faces. Frank is holding Grace. She was crying too. Frank is sniffling a lot. They all look up at us, their eyes lighting up.
The first to hug Adren is Grace. Adren hugs her back, looking up at Frank. He smiles down and her and helps her up. She hugs Frank tightly and kisses his cheek. Ray is next, ruffling her hair as she pulls away. Liz starts to cry in her shoulder. Adren just rubs her back attempting to calm her down.
"Where do we go from here?" Party asks.
"I go to the BLI. Then it's months of infiltrating." Adren says.
"Please don't go." The words tumble out of my mouth on accident.
Adren looks at me and a tear escapes her eye. She walks to me and kisses me passionately. I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her closer to my body. She tries to pull away but I put my hands on her face and deepen the kiss. I don't want our last kiss to be just small. I want it to be rememberable.
I pull away and whisper in her ear so no one else hears. "I wish I could have you for 5 minutes."
"Me too." She whispers back.
"I love you, Janae." I use her full name on purpose.
"I love you too Mikey."
I kiss her again and let her free.
Adren's P.O.V
I wipe away the tear that fell. I look around at everyone, knowing I'll be gone for so long and I'll never see them during this. Dr. D comes up to us and nods.
"Say goodbye, we're leaving." He says.
I look around at everyone and hug everyone individually. I kiss Party on the cheek, and kiss Mikey for the longest time. I pull away and wave goodbye to everyone.
Dr. D and I walk out of the hospital, leaving everyone behind. I get into Dr. D.'s van and drive off to the Better Living Company's Head Quarters. This is the start of a horrible new life.
