Thoughts - Once again, I was apprehensive about reading this becuase I was afraid that it would be too over the top with religious allusions. Once again, I was wrong. Although having been based of a biblical story, the Queen of Persia contained just the right amount. It is interesting, It is well written and it is intriguing. What I loved most is how skillfully the author captures what Esther could have felt - something taken for granted too often. What I also loved was that the author stayed true to historical context, taking the initiative to mention specific events so we see the similarities with this and the story in the bible.
