Zayn and I had been avoiding each other ever since we blew up at the other, making everyone else on the tour tense. It was hard to be far from him but this tension was my fault. I had to say that I was dumb for falling for him and that he didn't care about me when I knew that what I said was a lie. I was angry... so, so angry. I felt so foolish. I wanted to talk to someone, but the only person that I could talk to about this is Zayn. There's no way I should be talking to the other boys, I can't accidentally let it get out that Zayn's leaving the band. That I would most likely be leaving because Zayn's leaving.
A knock on my hotel room interrupts my thoughts and I've never been so grateful to have human contact. Quickly, I get up and walk over to the door. I open it up to find Selena, which takes me by surprise because she is one of the last people I would expect to see.
"Payton!" she cheers, a huge smile on her face as she hugs me. I hug her back and then invite her inside, closing the door before going and sitting down with her on the couch in the room. "So, I heard that you have been isolating yourself from everyone else? What's up, that's not like you at all," Selena says to me and I shrug. She gives me a look that says "I know you're lying, you and Taylor are the worst liars tell me what's happening" and I let out a sigh before speaking.
"Zayn and I had a fight and I don't know, I just felt like I should back away. It's already awkward enough between me and the boys, I don't need to make it worse and make it awkward with the crew," I confess to her and Selena nods her head, looking like a therapist who was just listening to their client babble on and on. "Don't be offended by this, but why are you in Singapore?" I ask her and she laughs, patting my shoulder lightly.
"Just in town because the producer I want to work with for my next album is here and I got some time to kill before I can see him, so here I am!"
I smile at her, feeling better now that someone was talking to me.
"Wanna go for coffee?" I ask her and eagerly, Selena starts nodding her head.
"When have I ever turned that down? Let's go, my dear," she smiles, extending out her hand to help me off the couch when she stands up.

We were in the car. It was about 5 in the afternoon, Selena and I were reading people's tweets about us to each other, as we had posted pictures of our afternoon adventure all over the place and the internet seemed to be enjoying it. It was nice, I hadn't hung out with someone like this in a long time... I'm thinking maybe I should've been doing that all along.
"How are you feeling though? Better?" she asks me, pressing the lock button and resting her phone on her leg.
"I'm better, thanks," I say to her a smile, which she returns. We start talking about random things in her life, especially the new music that she was working on and may or may not have let me listened to a bit of. For the first time in a week, I felt really happy but I wasn't ready to face the boys tonight. Soon enough, we were back at my hotel and I had to say goodbye to my friend. "Thanks so much for this afternoon. You have no idea how much better I feel," I tell Selena and a wide smile spreads across her face as she hugs me once more.
