- Payton -
The day had gone by pretty quickly and now it was time for soundcheck for the concert that would be taking place in just a few hours. I had finally gotten to meet the boys of 5 Seconds of Summer, the band that Niall never stopped talking about, and also got to watch their soundcheck while One Direction did some media work backstage - they were in an interview when I walked into their dressing room to grab my phone.
"And there's Payton now!" the interviewer says and all heads turn to face me. I let out a small laugh and quickly walk over to the table where my phone was sitting. "When did she get here?"
"This morning," Harry says and I hear the interviewer laugh - even though I don't understand why my time of arrival was so funny to her. Anyway, the interviewer waves me over to come join them and, after Paul has given approval, I walk over and sit between Niall and Liam on the couch.
"It's so nice to see you Payton, how are you?" questions the interviewer and my answer for her is short and sweet.
"I'm great! I just came here to get my phone, I don't really want to ruin this interview."
From beside me, Niall laughs and wraps his arm loosely around my waist.
"Oh I'm sure the boys don't mind! I know I certainly don't," says the interviewer and I smile at her, extremely grateful that she was nice to me. "Just a couple quick questions for you and Niall, if that's alright with everyone else?" she asks. Fortunately, the boys were fine with it.
"Go ahead," I say and she smiles at me and Niall, turning the page on her notepad before she gets started with her "couple" questions.
"First question," she starts, quickly jotting down some notes, "How often do you two see each other?"
Niall and I exchange looks and then I start to speak. "Um, not that often. I'd say that we FaceTime more than we see each other in person."
The interviewer nods her head before asking another question. "So is it hard for you to get together, even if you're in the same city?" she asks and this time Niall replies.
"Yeah, I'd say it is hard. When we're in the same city it can be difficult, but if we get the opportunity to spend time together, we'll spend time together," he says and the smile on my face grows. It's quiet as the interviewer writes our responses down, but then Zayn pipes up.
"Yeah when they spend time together, they spend time together. If you get what I mean," Zayn says, shooting the interviewer. She blushes because of Zayn's wink and quickly looks down at her notebook, giggling as she writes down what he said. Meanwhile, Niall and the other boys hold back a laugh while I turn a deep shade of red - covering my face to hide my embarrassment.
"After what I heard today I'm surprised she can still walk," Louis says with a smirk, and my eyes go wide at his comment. The interviewer and everyone in the room burst out into laughter and I blush even more. Niall, with a huge smirk on his face, leans in and whispers in my ear.
"At least they haven't noticed the nice hickey you've got there."
I bite my lip and Niall then places a kiss on my cheek, the laughing in the room slowly dying down.
"Any other questions?" I ask, my face probably a nice light shade of pink. The interviewer nods her head and, once everyone is quiet, she speaks.
"One last one," she smiles and tightly grips her pencil. "What does Niall think of the song you did with Harry?"
I pause for a moment and look at Niall, a slightly surprised look on his face. I then look over at the interviewer and I notice that instead of a smile, she has a somewhat mean-looking smirk on her face. It was then that I decided I didn't want to be here anymore.
